TOPIC: Quiver of Annointment & Blunder Weapons

Does the Quiver of Anointment work on Blunder Weapons, such as the +2 Boom Stick? I'm guessing the answer is yes, but figured it was worth asking.

The boom stick is a ranged weapon so it should apply.

Unless TPTB rule that it doesn't, yes. The Quiver currently works on slings, crossbows, bows, and all other missile weapons. So, yes, as the rules are written, it is compatible. The strangeness of it working on a blunder weapon is why I'm posing the question.

I don't see why it wouldn't. It works on all other ammo, including sling bolts. And we have magic bullets, so it's not like you can argue against to from a science versus magic angle.

I was assuming it would work, as well...

From the TDb entry for Quiver of Anointment :

Allows the application of a magical weapon-based oil (oil only, not any other fluid) to a single ranged weapon

Blunder weapons (including +2 Boom Stick) are ranged, so yes the QoA is compatible with them.

By that definition, the Quiver of Anointment would also work on Compound weapons then, right?

So you can Quiver of Anointment a Trident, Spear, or Hand Axe?

In the token guide, it says that Compound weapons have the "functionality of being both a melee weapon and ranged weapon."

That seems to imply that you should also be able to use a Quiver of Anointment when you are using a compound weapon in melee (not just thrown). Even if you are using it as a melee weapon, it still counts as a ranged weapon as well which should qualify it under the Quiver. Right?

Interesting. It should allow thrown compounds but since you can't pick them up again that is not to big of a deal as it would require 1 oil per throw. But using it on a compound and then not throwing it wasn't something that occured to me. I'd say the spirit of the law suggests its not allowed but the letter of the law says it is.

Personally I would amend the token guide to read
