TOPIC: Gloves of Spell Penetration

I was really looking forward to these, seeing as how Magic Resistance made every single caster in our party completely useless against Smoak this year. Did the gloves get scrapped? If so I really hope that Magic Resistance is minimized or removed.

They were held off until next year, and the Sniper Goggles were brought back, because Casters already got 3 Ultra Rares (although I wish the Charm of Spell Swapping had been the one to get pushed back). Apparently, 2012 will be the year for Caster sets.

that seems like an odd choice, unless Dracolich Smoak is NOT going to have magic resistance. Like I said, Both wizards, the druid and cleric for 3 rounds, not a single spell got through. And I've heard we weren't an abnormal occurance >.>

No kidding, both I and our druid were using Bracelets of the Zephyr also, so that's 11 spells in a row, ALL resisted. That seems more than a little ridiculous to me.

The question to ask yourself is who rolled the dice for the SR?

I only bring this up because of the dice used in the Smoak room this year was not a normal d20.

I was incredibly lucky... I cast a "Coldball" and a "Chilling Ray" in the same round (with the bracelets} and both got though!


Then all my spells were all resisted after that :(

Our Wizard didn't get a single spell through, he actually gave up out of frustration and stopped even trying. Not a fun room for him at all.

I'd say my spells made it 3/4 times, but that was on normal level not nightmare and I rolled the die not the DM. I prefer to make those rolls, then if I miss its all on me. The first year against Smoak I missed everything and gave up and took a few slides.
