From time to time one or two of us will see the need and have the time to track token values. Sometimes, someone will share their information, for a while. Life takes it's toll and we falter and stop.
Every year, new people ask where to look for current token values. Repeatedly.
Most of us see the need for an accurate, dependable set of guidelines to what current token values happen to be.
But the job seems to be bigger than any single one of us can do consistently. So why don't we pool what we have and can do.
I have seen several posts that indicate at least three or four individuals track token values to some degree. And I am sure many more do too.
Is anyone interested in contributing to a collective pool of information?
I would think we could come up with a simple way for numerous individuals to contribute bits and pieces. Anything is better than nothing.
PM or Post your ideas or comments.
It is a needed thing.

Both? I tend to look at eBay sales, and set a GP value based off of that. Just now I have GPs valued at 2.5 cents per GP.

I am holding an auction for future gold in hopes of setting the price of gold.

Darkrose, I applaud your attempt to moderate the price of gp. I think in many people's minds there is a disconnect between dollars and gp, which leads them to treat gp as funny money. These, I would think, are more likely those that buy large quantities of tokens for the sake of PYPs and get the gp as a bonus. While others struggle to acquire gp, to trade for purps, and value it at what they pay for it; often mixing gems in with gp, giving a skewed value to gp.

Archmage, either/or/both. I tracked $ value on ebay and posted only that. I have heard that others have done otherwise but I am too new at tokens to have seen any of their postings. But a true price guide should list both, I would think.

That’s a great idea! A shared database for token values would make updates easier and more reliable for everyone. Count me in.

Just an FYI. Looks like the post prior to yours regarding this subject was from 15 years ago. That's about when I started playing. Good old days. Prices on Tokens seem to change pretty often, best bet is to take a look at Trent's site or the Token stores on the forums or the trade threads on the forums and on Discord.

I do enjoy thread resurrection from the early days, well done!

Way back when, Douglas used to do a True Dungeon price guide, I think that is the only price guide there has ever been. It didn't quite try to track actual token values though, as it forced the values to add up to the price of the token packs.

To be honest, I tend to use the prices on Trent's and Kirk's websites (now just Trent's) as a kind of price guide, even though you have to decide when those prices are fairly accurate or when someone might be put a clearance price or a premium price on tokens.
