So what do you use food for? Does it heal you when eaten?

Sometimes it works that way but only if it says that on the token. Sometimes food tokens are, no pun intended, flavor tokens.

Kim

This year Turkey legs are used to make one of the desired combo tokens at Gen Con - the Elixer of Vitality (which needs 2 Turkey legs+some other stuff to make).
Other uses for this (or last years iron rations) could be to bribe monsters that eat meat, or to beat out a warning on some monsters drums, or whatever your imagination can come up with.

I'm using turkey legs and last year's hard rations to build a food golem! Now I just need a wish ring to bring it to life... mwa ha ha ha!

OK so a Turkey Leg is the Zonk of TD... Gotcha.

I've heard from other veteran players that flavor tokens can, and have, been applied to thoughtful and amusing uses within the dungeon as well. While I'm not sure what a turkey leg might be useful for offhand, having not run TD before, I can imagine a few practical (and amusing) uses myself...
