Remember, the purpose of the TdB is to help with the running and playing of the game, not the collecting of tokens.

A lot (most?) of the woody gems were kind of consolidated into the chippy versions even though the woody versions had slightly different names. It was an editorial decision. You're welcome to disagree with it, but barring a direct request from El Queso Grande, I'm disinclined to change them.

No disagreement here, just asking the question.

:)

Just so I make sure I understand the answer, and since the picture on the tokendb is not a woodie, has a different name, and a different graphic, it seems like you're saying the following names existed for the following years:

Woodies:
2003 - 75 GP Amethyst Gem
2004 - 75 GP Amethyst Gem
2005 - 75 GP Amethyst Gem
2006 - 75 GP Amethyst Gem

Chippies:
2007 - 75 GP Amethyst Gem

Then the name and graphic changed to:

2009 - 75 GP Amethyst (the token I have, and the picture I provided).

So what doesn't quite make sense, or what I'm misunderstanding, is that the name/graphic changed between two different chippies, not with the woodies? And as i recently mentioned, they're two different things in the truedungeon.com/newsletter/Trade_Token_Guide.pdf (page 48).

Here's the two side by side:

That's the image I was given.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Thanks bpsymington and Rob F. I've sent in all the info that I had, and it's up to Druegar (or head cheeses!) to do what they think is best. As for me, since 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, & 2007 have the same name, for my inventory I'll call that "one token" (with 5 different years/printings). And I'll call the 2009 one a "different token" since it has a different name and graphic, especially since it's two different tokens in the truedungeon.com/newsletter/Trade_Token_Guide.pdf .

Thanks again all!

:)

I attempted to clarify how bardsong, standard spells, and slide-spells interact with Earcuff of Inspiration . Please let me know if this needs to be further elucidated.

Seems like a perfectly cromulent explanation.

Spells that require an attack slide gain no additional benefit from Earcuff of Inspiration because bardsong already modifies slide spells–no other token required.

I would add the text

"(both to hit and damage)" to that line just for clarification, I was aware of the to hit bonus but unaware of the damage bonus. I assumed the wording was just a bit vague

Nice work!

Here is a suggestions to make it more comprehensive:

Earcuff of Inspiration never effects spells cast "as a scroll," such as spells from scrolls, wands, or other items that cast "as a scroll."

And a question:

2017's common Pixie Lyre's adds +1 to ranged damage. This means the lyre itself adds +1 damage to spells cast "As a spell," which are ranged attacks.

How does Earcuff of Inspiration interact with this toke?

A clarifying example: If a spell is cast by a Wizard wearing Earcuff of Inspiration while under the effect of 4th level bardsond with Pixie Lyre, what is the damage bonus on the spell?

I see there is a whole other thread on the above questions.

I'll talk about that stuff over there.

I was looking at Carter's Tome of Insight. The NOTE states: "Though any class may equip this token, under most circumstances only spellcasters (bard, cleric, druid, paladin, ranger, and wizards) gain any practical benefit from it."

So it defines the Paladin class as a spell casting class. I assume this is just an err? I know they can use certain scrolls but the current character card (at any level) does not list out a "Spells" section. Did older versions of Paladin's have a small subset of spells? Do the Paladin's special powers qualify as a "spell" for Carter's Tome? Or maybe I'm just missing something.

True, but Carter's Tome only allows a re-cast of a spell from the character card, not from a scroll. Which is why I'm thinking the Paladin should be removed from the inclusion in the note section.
