Down side of will call is, sometimes those will call lines move at a decent pace. Last year I heard people getting through it in just under half an hour.

And sometimes those will call lines are horrid. Well over 4 hours.

I would think that with this being the 50th. This year may see a massive surge in attendance. And with that, you could see the will call lines long and slow.

Not to mention an extreme shortage in hotels, and prime events like TD going even faster.

The nice thing about Will Call on Wednesday is it is open all night long, so you can show up at 4AM (techincally Thursday) and get your stuff.
You either discover a star or you don't. You arrogant punk.

I remember the Will Call line in 2003 was around the block, I think people were in that line nearly all day. I had a couple of friends that made the mistake that year of doing will call. Indy was caught off guard that year on a lot of things, I remember that many restaurants ran out of food during the weekend, and hearing that the ATMs were all out of money. :)

I remember that.

Generally Will Call is fine if you do it Wednesday, it's terrible if you aren't going to be there for Wed afternoon/night. On site pickup Th/F/Sa is usually hours long

I generally show up mid day Wednesday and check the line. If it's short I get my tickets; if it's long I unpack/eat dinner and check back in. Usually get through it in 10-30 minutes whatever time I decide to stay. Generally hit the line before noon or after 10PM

I keep trying to get my wife to volunteer for Gen Con in the will call area so I get my stuff fast but she never seems to want to do that. Frankly I can't even get her to gen con even with the promise of beer garden.

is there a way to see all gencon housing block hotel inventory before sunday when we log in in a mad scramble to get a room?

I am wanting to get a 2-room suite, but would prefer not to waste time checking hotels that just don't have them in the block.
this is not a signature.

I don't think so. Their hotel page is sparse in info this year. Just the hotel, distance and nightly charges.

No other info like parking fees, internet access fees if any, comp. breakfast. Nothing.

And considering what you need, if your shooting for a DT room, better hope your within the first hour, or you could be out of luck. Those rooms go fast.
