Your attacks strike the darkness and for a moment it seems as if nothing has happened. Then a skeletal figure robed in living darkness steps from the shadows and you notice the truth of those words. Beyond your group it seems as the world has stopped, both Ismark and the storm that was raging only moments ago seem to be frozen in time.

"Who are you who dares call forth the true lord or Ravenloft, who are you who dares challange death" whispers the reaper.

I continue to sing in reply to death's question.

Yelling I say, “Look at each of us! Look at the wounds and exhaustion. Quietly I continue, “Each of us fights against not you but what you represent. You represent the end of things and we are the beginnings. We are life itself. Life, that with every breath fights for more time on this plain of existence.”

With determination I continue “If you are Death incarnate then you know me. We are old friends. I have even been your servant both willingly and reluctantly. If you are truly that eternal being then know this, I stand between you and my friends.” I move to place myself between the party and Death. “I will NOT falter and I will stand for life. Strike me down if you must, fight me if you dare.”

Barkley cries, "Your darkness is no match for Pelor's light!" as he calls down Searing Light upon the fiend (ooc: 20pts plus 10 if it's undead, plus anything the Raven may care to contribute, I'm not proud...)

'Delmar' walks around the embodiment of evil and pokes it a few times.

"Dang, it froze again and just when it was getting good. Dennis, you know more about this holodeck crap than I do. Think you can get it running again?"

Widseth walks over and opens a panel between the grid lines on the smooth metallic wall.

"A fuse has burned out again. I told Data to replace these with the solid state modules, but they beamed him to the planet again to deal with the lava creature."

I pull out a fuse and slip it into place. The scene shimmers and my dancing sword transforms into a sawed off shotgun, and my sword in hand take the form of a colt 45. The party is faced with the Clantons.

"Wyatt, I mean Delmar watch your left."

"Hold it. Hold it. What is this? Piccard left his program in the drive again."

"Computer, hold program," Lt. Brian says. "If we are going to be playing with guns, I want to be sure the safety protocols are engaged."

I fire at one of the Clantons and he falls in the dusty street. The body shimmers, twitches, and transforms.

"Dadgumit. I just shot Wesley. I didn't know he wasn't a hologram. And to think I'm wearing his charm in the Ravenloft program. Lt. Brian, you've got to get these safety protocols rechecked. Barkley, I mean Bones--get the med kit."
