You find little of use in the ruins but something of note. Near Strahd's crypt you find the remains of a newly carved but empty and unlabeled tomb. Beyond that lies another labeled 'Ireena Kolyana: Wife' and beyond that another labeled 'Sasha Ivliskova: Wife' followed by several more in that self same pattern. Most are either empty or contain remains of now dead vampires.

"I fear we will have to fight the girl in the bedroom, Gertruda. I'm sure Strahd will turn her now so many of his minions are destroyed. I now sorrow that we left her. She would have been safer with us even if she had been a liability."

(I look around for weapons and armor that will fit Ismark. Can we outfit him reasonably well?)

"Delmar, Ismark, or anyone else--any thoughts on how to overcome the lycan curse or at least free him from Strahd being able to control him?"

Delmar sighs, "My friends, I fear this curse may not be removable by the wish scroll and the scroll could bring the sword directly to you. I would not want a chance of ridding me of this curse to be the downfall of the quest.

Maybe there would be some way to remove me from the danger of being controlled. I will be of no use, and more likely a danger, if I come within sight of Strahd and still have the curse upon me.

I cannot in good conscious end my own life nor ask my friends to take that responsibility. Pelor must have known that this would happen to me but I cannot fathom his reasoning. I can only leave this decision in the hands of my comrades."

"Delmar, you shall not be slain by our hand. Destroying one of Pelor's strongest champions is a victory we shall not hand to our enemy. As it is written, 'Pelor requires only that we do the next right thing.' If Pelor has shown you the wish will not restore you, then perhaps we must use it to bring the sword.

"To strike such fear into Strahd's lifeless heart the sword must hold great power. Think of the power within this Raven; and Strahd seems to fear the sword even more.

"But the third option is to use it to try to save poor, simple Gertruda. We could wish to send her to her home - but if she's already been turned it would be a disastrous thing to do."

"I don't speak on magic, because I don't know much about it." Cram starts.
"But, I think we must accomplish our goal. If you can use some words to bring us the sword which will destroy the vampire, that is what we must do."

Cram continues slowly, "I feel bad for Gertruda, but the best way to help her is to destroy the Lord of this land."

"Cram, you speak with great wisdom. Adeya . . . Breon, can you craft a spell to effectively bring the sun sword to us. We have to be careful in how the wish is verbalized so we are not deceived or create an unintended problem with the literal interpretation of the magic. I would hazard using the scroll, but you have much greater skill than I. I fear we've not much time before Strahd and the power that controls him strikes back at us. Through the use of the Raven and Pelor's blessing, we've dealt them a heavy blow, but I fear there is much yet in the balance."

"Before you cast any spell, let's review the wording among ourselves."

Breon replies, "We must certainly take care when utilizing arcane energies so powerful. I will consider it quickly, but carefully."

"I have an idea. Maybe we can do a push for the sword since all the other predictions were correct. If we find it then the wish scroll might be able to remove my curse and maybe it will not."

Delmar pauses to think a bit more, "I think we should have a wish made for the sword crafted and ready to say if we run into Strahd. At that point I can try and run to keep myself out of his control. You will have the sword and can dispatch Strahd. If by chance we can recover the sword quickly the scroll may alleviate my curse."

"If we do this either place me in front where I can attack the creatures that hit me and not attack my comrades or place me in back were I will be somewhat safer from any damage causing the curse to manifest. I now know that I will attack whatever damages me when I am changed. Each moment I can fight to regain myself."

If, I have counted correctly, I believe Mr. DM is getting married very soon. Congratulations and may you be blessed in your marriage.

I just hope we don't find your new bride in one of these crypts with shiny sharp teeth.

Seriously though, I will be traveling next week and getting married on Tuesday. I should still have internet access at most places were going though so realistically I'll still be on here fairly close to daily (because ya know, I'm an addict XD)
