Historically to see both versions, this year to make sure I get a run in with as many friends as possible:)

Also different levels of challenge. Variants I have run.

Greedy Sealed. Only using the tokens in a starter pack plus any treasure enhancers.
Greedy Sealed plus 1 Nightmare. Nightmare difficulty, starter pack plus any treasure enhancers and one token of your choice.
7 token challenge. Nightmare only 7 tokens including treasure enhancers.

Others I have heard of:

Green with Envy Nightmare - only uncommon tokens plus treasure enhancers.
Double Down runs. Nightmare with only 5 players.
Solo Nightmare. Its been done.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

Yep, just taking more time to explore some rooms that have so much in them makes it worth it to me.

Though with price increase and increased volunteer commitments this is the 1st Gen con i'm only doing each side once. No backup in case of a bad run.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Couldn't have said it better!

The multiple classes is a big one for me to keep things fresh from run to run. I have started playing more of a variety the last couple years.

My first two years I stayed with Paladin, or a fighter if already taken... however I enjoy the change. I avoid memorization classes still or just say “I fail, move on”...

I really enjoy Rogue and Monk now... and don’t mind mixing it up with a run playing Elf Wizard (but don’t do the checks).

To echo the sentiments of others but add something of my own; even though it's the same dungeon, it's different every time because of the variables...

1) Simply running with different players.

2) There are often different ways to overcome each puzzle.

3) Likewise, monsters may be overcome in different ways.

4) If you're running the same dungeon but at different shows, the NPCs and DMs change and add their own unique flavor to each room.

5) Helping new / newer players enjoy their first TD experiences. Beyond our vested interest $$$ in tokens, I want to keep TD going forever as I really enjoy playing this game with my friends. New players are the way to keep it going.

Especially if a run has DM NPCs. Lots of fun with the different Basts and aides to Felurian this past season. Fun to see the different takes on those. Also, when you do multiple runs, with the extra time you have, you're able to interact with them more.

With full-time volunteering, GenCon is basically TDCon. Just no time. If we’re all the way over in Lucas, it’s easier to run another dungeon than walk over to the main ICC to do something else. And when it was only one weekend a year, you want to get the maximum utility from your token collection while you can.

But basically it’s fun.

It’ll be interesting to see how playing habits will change now that there are four potential locations and weekends to play. We ran a lot at Origins because we could. We’re planning on running a lot less at GC, but we’ll see

This question has come up a few times in the past.

I think the number 1 reason was to see all the content.
Number 2 was ensuring they solved all the puzzles.
Number 3 was playing with different friends.

This Gencon is going to be different because there is no more puzzle/combat to deal with.
I know I AM running 1 of the dungeons twice and its because of #3 running with different friends.

My joking response is "What else are we supposed to do?"
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

I run the same dungeon more than once to get punches on my Frequent Adventurer Card. After 10 punches, the 11th is free!
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Keep in mind, with the new format - it is my understanding that you may see different rooms depending on the decisions the party makes. I did N1 at Origins and I seem to remember we had options that we didn't do. Am I correct in that there are different rooms possible depending on how a group goes through N2 or N3 (i.e. different rooms within N2, for example, depending on party decisions)?
