"Challenge" doesn't even begin to describe it!

Getting volunteers is relatively easy to do. Getting quality volunteers is an entirely different problem. Sure, there are a few positions a greenhorn could do, but there are a ton of jobs you just can't do if you're not very familiar with TD.

ETA: Also, getting reliable people is a perennial problem. Next time you see Lori or Jean, ask them how many people every single year flake on their assigned shifts.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Mark Lesh wrote: I'd like to express my disappointment in TD not taking into greater consideration families on Family Day at GENCON 2017. I've already bought Family Day badges with the expectation that we'd be able to do a run on Sunday like in year's past.

For some background, my GENCON pretty much revolves around TD. I play 3 runs with friends on Thurs-Saturday each year and then take my family of 4 on a run on Sunday during Family Day. Just having more runs on the other days really does nothing to help me. School in Indiana starts the first week of August, so bringing my boys to GENCON before the weekend isn't an option.

The best I could do now to try to get back to parity with prior years for my family would be to buy 3 additional day passes (and get a refund on the Family day pass -- $120 increase in my costs) and then HOPE to be able to get tickets on Saturday for all of us while competing with all the added competition from everyone else who can only attend on the weekend.

Again, just seriously disappointed. Hopefully you reconsider in planning future GENCON events as my sons really do love playing TD.

If you are in range of Columbus, Ohio, TD is now at Origins. At this point there are a lot of tickets available for TD. Since its mid June, school should not be a factor.

Another consideration - if they are looking for experience for their account they cannot get that from Origins and only get it from True Dungeon. So no point going to Origins if you want experience points.

are you sure about this, I thought(i am sure someone has it bookmarked somewhere) that you can get experence if you run the dungeons at other cons and have not run them before (so if you only go to Origins you get it, but if you go to GC,GHC and origins, you only get it from one place)

You can only get up to level 3 going to any other convention other than GENCON. So you have to go to GENCON if you want to level.

Guys, ladies... we all know the solution to this problem. We gotta make the best 4 days in gaming the best 5 days in gaming. Then we will have more runs!

Very simple...well not really simple at all but still!

Higher than that, though I don't remember how high. I hit level 4 at GHC.

You are correct it is level 5 cap. I was getting confused with the level 3 for class thing. :(

Earn XP and Get a FREE Exclusive Token at Gamehole Con

We are happy to announce that each player of a two-hour adventure at Gamehole Con will be able to claim experience points -- just like can be done at Gen Con. Players will be provided with a card with a unique code which can be entered at the TD website to record XP for your player account.

NOTE: This only applies to players under 5th level. If you..

Wednesday is already trade day and the volunteers and staff at Gencon start working from the Monday.

This year I'll be arriving in the Friday night and start gaming on Saturday , the Saturday before Gencon starts.

Anyone who wants to attend a small token opening party is welcome to do so.

I'm planning it for the Sunday
*mental note* always listen to Jeff

Between set-up and volunteer needs adding runs on Weds is not realistically doable.

I am very happpy to have no runs on Sunday - I will actually be able to enjoy the exhibit hall and the con for another day.

That was the rule but maybe not any more. You can get up max xp at origins if you did not get max xp for each dungeon at Gen Con regardless of your level. It is likely that GHC will be the same going forward as they will likely be repeats of Gen Con dungeons. Jeff stated this in the post questions here thread under origins.

Another thing about Sunday.

In my coaching experience over the last few years there were always a fair number of less than full groups on Sunday.

This year we currently have a full sell out with people scrambling to find tickets.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

I bet a lot of people will oversleep for the 8am runs though.
