The dungeon runs are theoretically the same throughout the whole GenCon, or at least that is the goal. In reality some puzzles are modified to make them harder or easier as the con progresses, or some have to be modified if they break, etc. But there are two different dungeons, and each of them have a puzzle and a combat version. All four of these options are available all four days of GenCon.

As you said before I think puzzle is best for newbies. All dungeons have both combat and puzzles, but the puzzle runs have more puzzles and less combat.

As has been said just pick up one ticket for a puzzle run for yourself and you'll end up with a random group but almost certainly you'll have a great time.

There are four different dungeons: two different story lines, each in a puzzle and a comber version. The latter two have five to six identical rooms, so they're almost the same.

But other than some tweaks, each dungeon stays the same all four days.

There's a story line, but to be fair it's usually weak enough that typically can play them in any order. One trick is to get tickets for part 2 early on Thursday. Those usually sell last because many mistakenly think you can't play #2 first.

If they didn't mention, tickets go very fast. if you don't get a ticket you can try and wait list if its just you, its relatively easy to jump into an open spot.
Sweet a combat room, we won't take damage!

I've never tried the comber version, that sounds like fun. ;)

Not if, like me, you're going bald. Then it's just scratchy.

Damn autocorrect. It's supposed to say "cobra," because there's a room where they drop poisonous snakes on your head, without warning.

Or maybe I meant "combat."

This is a great pro tip! Definitely going to try that this year.

Glad I don't have go all days. I really wanted to do other things. So I'll probably go Friday some time.

My wife and I aren't so much into the puzzles, so we usually just do the two wombat-combing combat dungeons, hold the vipers. :)

If you are buyin a single ticket you can probably make this happen. If you are trying to take a group you may have to be more flexible.

It would be nice if TD went on sale a week before other events, so those of us who want to do other things aside from TD (blasphemy I know) could plan them a bit more.
