Well I don't doubt for a second that Jeff will put on a great event in Carbondale!

I will just really need more details to know for sure if I will attend.

In all honesty, I understand WYCs limitations but still sad to see TD leave WYC. We've really enjoyed getting an extra chance to play TD and True Grind at WYC over the last few years, and it's an easy trip to Indy for me. Last year I was able to fly my son from college to Indy pretty cheap to join, and was already planning a bigger group to attend TD at WYC this year. Not likely to get the whole group to make the further trip

Having done build and tear down twice at WYC, I understand the limitation issue. Virtually every square inch of space was used to create rooms that were less than ideal sized. It must have been a bear to plan the build.

I'd really recommend staying at the two hotels listed in the Upcoming Events page. They are much closer than Marion, very nice hotels and they will have a shuttle. Plus...they are very close to TD HQ. We don't make a cent off anyone staying at these hotels...I'm just giving up a recommendation. Thanks.

I looked up the Marion Hampton on the Hilton website. Its only $9 a night cheaper than the TD rate at the one in Carbondale. Its about 15 miles from the event site as opposed to 5.

Personally, glad it is being moved to Carbondale. Weekend selected matches up to two other things I want to do. Now it is three. Argh!

This is my only issue. Any other weekend would have been better for me.

Oh well, will have to wait for GC.

I realize this may sound more than a little whiny, and I am not exactly sure how to fix that, but is there any chance the weekend chosen for this event is a even a little flexible?

Of course it would benefit me, but it sounds like at least a few others might like the weekend after as well

Either way, I hope it succeeds whenever it is.

I imagine whatever weekend is chosen it is going to affect someone(s). I don't have any data to back this up beyond Chad mentioning they are going to GaryCon the week before WYC. I am going to WYC the week of WYC.

I imagine Jeff probably has plans as well some weekends. I do think it sucks that some people that would want to attend cannot but I honestly don't know how that is avoided.

For me even if the date shifted slightly, I'd still remain iffy. I go from Adepticon in March to C2E2 in April to ACEN in May, So its a busy time to slip another event in either way.

I agree completely. If I could convince the people I know to move their wedding I would do that.

It was a hail mary.

On the WYC vs GHC thing my crew came back with the opposite opinion.

GHC had a large number of D&D adventurer's league official games, including 3 event specific runs. We ended up running 7 games of D&D and 5 games of TD at GHC and will definitely be going back.

WYC has no D&D AL presence, so all it has for us is TD. The location means I can get a comped hotel room, but still if no TD then it's got no draw for us.
