I hope you post the final prices, it will be interesting to see where they end up after the probably flurry of last-second bidding. There are still a lot of items that are well under market value.

I wonder if it's been updated with all of the final bids. Unfortunately I lost track of the time, I'd planned on putting in a couple of last second bids. If it had been done Ebay style, I'd have bid earlier. It is a shame if it ended up with a loss, as I'd hoped this model would prove profitable and that we'd see similar auctions.

I think this whole thread should be save for posterity so it can be referenced during the periodic discussions about the good / harm resellers have on the TD economy.

I think it demonstrates pretty clearly that if resellers make a profit at all, it's by managing an large inventory of singles over long periods of time - not because the ready street value of an 8k order exceeds its retail price (which would be a strange state of affairs in any case).

Unfortunately we did not reach our goal by the set date. I have made a few changes and will be continuing with the auction until we reach the goal and get a pack ordered! Good luck McDroggin, even with the Orb and ticket to TD this spring I don't think you'll get there. And can you remind us why you are doing this in the first place? Are you bidding on some of the items yourself? If not what's your take?

You mention in the first post that the target price is $8,000. Is $8,000 the goal, and when you reach that you close the auction and make the order?

I do appreciate that you included the Ebay bidding model, that makes it more likely that I'll bid on a few items. Maybe you might want to say something like you'll announce when you made your goal, and at that point you'll end the auction at a set time the next day, to give you the chance of some last-second bids? Good luck getting the additional bids to get up to your goal!
