TOPIC: Treasure draw bad luck continues

In my case I did 10 runs and 1 True Grind

preorder 2x5=10
True Grind = 1
Adventure Guild Chips =2
10 runs varied from 12 to 17 each = 147
Total = 160

Over the entire Gen Con my group drew (according to my spreadsheet) 780 pulls.
We hit 4 specials (half a percent). 25,000 GP Bar, Relic +4 Protection Ring, 1st Tooth, and Golden Fleece. We pulled 9425 gold not counting the 25,000 Bar or the 5k in Doomducks. We had 104 Monster Bits (13%)

If anyone is interested I can break it down even further I tracked number of rares/uncommons in each of the Trade Token types. I even have it broken down each run.

In one run where we had over 140 pulls we hit no specials, but in the one we had just over 110 we hit two. A run I was on (but not my pulls) of my friends ended up with 25k bar and UR +2 Staff of Focus in about 85 pulls.

My group has opened well over 100 starter packs but never hit a UR.

If anyone wants the more data let me know.

Yeah, the forumites here are a skewed sample, since most are big fans who do multiple runs, may have treasure-enhancing tokens, and go with large groups of friends.

Sometimes we forget what it sounds like to new players when we say things like "Out of my 100 treasure pulls..."

I did attend one of the TD 101 seminars on Thursday, and you guys did a terrific job explaining how things worked. I can't imagine how lost I would've been without it.

I agree with this as new players can be puzzled by several things. For instance I ran into a group of new players who did 2 normal runs and out of their 15 treasure draws got 6 monster bits and were overjoyed when I gave them 45 treasure draws for them

You gave them 45 treasure draws for 6 monster bits? That doesn't seem right.... lol

Ended up with 96 pulls total, decided to do them all on the last day. I suppose I chose poorly as I ended up with 8 bits, around 5 underducks, a bunch of rare/uncommons, 2 completion tokens, and nothing special of note.

64 pulls 4 bits and squat beyond that. Between this year and not know about the 2013 special box I really wonder why I bother. In all the years I've played, I've only pulled (or my group) 3 non-normal items/bits. 2x Zephyr and 1x mace or staff (blue). Never getting something better really puts a damper on the experience.

I had good luck near the beginning. Maybe the buckets are slightly skewed to encourage early draws and return of treasure tokens.

Ooooh, *that* would be a good way to encourage early draws and Treasure Chip returns: Spread the rumour that treasure draws are better on the first day!

Unfortunately, then you'd get complaints from people who couldn't get tix for TD runs early on, and had to grab Sat or Sun tickets. They'd be rightfully pissed if the treasure draws sucked later in the weekend. :/

9 monster bits.

2 completion tokens (uncommon, from this year)

1 other (a potion of distilled healing)


So it seems we were in the vicinity of ~10% monster bits that others are reporting. But overall I was a bit disappointed. I did not keep track of the uncommon/rare ratios, but from my personal draws I think it was nearly 50/50.
