Due to some information we recently received, we may be revising all our plans for the 2014 events. We will post more complete information when we have it next month. Thanks for your patience...as well as your great input on our event.

Oy. What is GenCon trying to pull this time? :pinch:

I suppose it might be good news, but I doubt it. Hopefully it will be relatively neutral, and Jeff's plans will only need to be adjusted...

More info will be posted next week when I have it finalized.

As far as Gen Con goes...TD would not have come into existence if Gen Con had not blindly given several thousands of dollars to an unknown gamer nerd with a dream in 2003. Then in 2007, Peter was a huge help in upgrading our Treasure Tokens from the woodies to the beautiful tokens we have now.

We owe them a lot.

Jeff, without saying anything before your ready can you tell us if we should be at all worried or concerned? ie is the impending news positive/negative/nuteral from a TD perspective.

Maybe Jeff's news is great. It's sad that everyone is assuming it's not.

I'm late to this party. My opinion, for what it's worth - GenCon has to make decisions for the good of the Con as a whole, and no one can fault them for that. For us GenCon is about fun, but at the end of the day GenCon is a business.

GenCon made an investment in TD, and we're all very glad they did. But it's paid off handsomely for them; they've recouped that investment, I'm sure, many times over.

But TD is a business, too, and needs to make decisions that are its best interest. And no one can fault TD for that, either.

I have no love nor animus for GenCon, but I do love TD. I would just hate to see TD being held back from reaching its potential.

It does sound from the tone of Jeff's post that this is more of a challenge than an opportunity. But GENCON probably has to make some hard decisions on things like space, as the attendance and dealer participating is probably increasing at a much faster rate than anyone predicted. I'm sure Jeff will have the support of the community regardless of what changes in his plans he has to make.
