I stumbled upon this thread while looking for something else, and so I'm including my thoughts on a couple things discussed.
1) Cleric Beads - I don't play cleric but can definitely see what a problem it would be if the glue holding the beads down in the training room came apart. So how about this as a possible solution:

Pros: no glue to worry about, players can more easily handle and see the beads from all sides, & this more closely matched how they will be quizzed on the beads in the dungeon
2) The first time I played the Lycan adventure on Thursday I was allowed to use my Boots of Waterwalking. I had equipped them to my character with no knowledge of the puzzle only thinking that it would be really cool if they were helpful to me. The DM at the time ruled that I could use them but that they would only help me and that I would not be able to touch any boards or stones that the rest of the party still needed to use. In later runs of that room I was told that I couldn't use them because there were hostile spirits just beneath the waves. I didn't mind though cause the DM who denied me did so in a really cool, roleplaying-y, and story specific way, but I was really happy to be able to use them that first day.
3) At Fizzikx & jedibcg: I was really loopy on our Friday late night sealed pack run was I? I don't seem to recall that. I just remember having a great time on our run. At least I wasn't licking mushrooms!
4) So I didn't mean to do so many runs this year as partial Batgirl. I have two Renaissance costumes that I prefer to wear in TD, and they actually originally contributed to my choice of playing wizard my first year. This year at GenCon though I had a hotel that was too far away and it just wasn't feasible to switch out of my cosplay outfit and into my TD costumes all of the time. I'm glad so many people in the TD area liked the Batgirl costume though.
5) And finally, I also had a blast this year. I absolutely love GenCon and True Dungeon, and it is odd to think that as little as three years ago I didn't even know all of this existed! I am very grateful for all of the friends I have made here and the excellent times we have had together facing werewolves, treants, genies, gnomes, etc.
349 days until GenCon 2014!!!
