TOPIC: Rod of Seven Parts.......Part 2 ???

You're not looking very hard then. They're all over the place. At least a half dozen have sold on ebay and people have been dickering them about quite often.

Yeah, but I don't buy alot of single tokens.  Trade yes, buy unlikely.<br />

I too look to trade as opposed to buy.  At least through trade I also get other tokens in the mix, whereas buying single tokens I just have that one token.  Really, I've only bought one token outright, and that was because I knew that there was absolutely no other way to even dream of acquiring that token via trade.

Lotsa them have been traded too. Not for long though. It'll probably get tight after gencon as people try to keep ahold of earlier parts hoping to dicker them for much larger gains down the line. The thinking will go, maybe I can trade a part 1 for part 5 and part 6 since one's so rare. Now's the only chance you've got without paying through the nose.

<br /><br />Lol.  Where on earth did you come up with that?<br />While I don't have the original DMG memorized any more, I did briefly review the RoSP section when the first part was discovered and the only "similar" function I recall reading about was that once you had one part, the bearer would "know" the general direction in which the next part of the rod lies.<br /><br />

I decided to just cut to the chase. I tracked down a copy of Eldritch Wizardry, the first mention of the Rod of Law. Here is the exact quote:<br /><br />THE ROD OF SEVEN PARTS<br />The seven parts of this rod are scattered in various places around the world. When the first part<br />(the smallest) is found, it appears as a small wand, but it does nothing and has no powers. It will,<br />however, lead its user in the direction of the second part of the rod, if the user wishes to try to<br />find it. If and when the second part of the rod is found, it must be connected to the first part<br />until the third part is found. If the parts are not found in order, the out-of-order parts will<br />randomly teleport away from the user. From then on, until the last part is found and assembled,<br />the user may not let go of the rod (unless, of course, he dies). The first two parts of the rod, when<br />assembled, have the effect of one power from TABLE III (a mild one), and leads the user to the<br />third part. When found and assembled, the third part stops the second part from having any<br />further effect, gives the user one of the powers from TABLE I, and leads the user to the fourth<br />part. <br /><br />I'm kinda curious here but how would you even know if they were being traded? Almost no one posts trades anymore. I'm thinking that lots have been traded because I've been offered 2-3 personally in trade so I bhave to assume they're shifting about.

I have 2 and someone has made me a great offer. I was going to wait until Gencon but the offer is good so i am mulling it over
