NOT to be confused with "Who wants to live forever!" - Highlander.

I too organize teams of eight (two different ones this year).

For GenCon runs:

I had everything the players needed in a simple plastic folder (one per player) from Office Depot. Each folder consisted of 3-5 plastic token sheets (one of which was empty (so that they could put their treasure finds in them)).

Using packing tape, secure the top row of tokens. This is a must! Tokens as noted by several, fall out easily. However, if the top row is taped, then it acts as a barrier to the other tokens. The combination of a plastic binder and the taping PREVENTED any tokens falling out this year. Use packing tape, it adheres better and is wider (I tried using Scotch tape the first year and it failed). Another trick is to leave the top row blank.

Using this method, you will need to put those items that do not need to be pulled out in the top row. For me, it was stuff like armor, ioun stones, etc. For the healers, I did include Death Door potions, Big heal potions/scrolls in the top row but still taped them and gave instructions: "Break Tape in Case of Emergency".

Between runs, refill folders from a couple of those small boxes that TD ships. I had thing organixed into baggies within each box.

After the con, I sorted all the loot, refilled the folders and added any new stuff. I weill add new stuff in next year, and probably throw in another sheet for each player.

My collection is also in plastic sheets and I have everything sorted by production run (I've only collected for 2 years). Each run has its own binder (one of those big school binders that has a zipper that encloses all contents) (again from Office Depot).

The rest go into the small shipping boxes (sorted by type and year of course). I can get about 175 into a box easily. I have been putting them into baggies (1 quart size hold ~125 and sandwich size holds ~50-60). They seem to stay more organized inside the baggies (less movement). Eight of these boxes go into the big shipping container. Continue until everything is in its place.

For transportation, I used a small backpack that has wheels. The folders and spares fit nicely into it. And the good news is I didn't have to lug it over my shoulder!

Everything is in an Excel spreadsheet. Still working on its functionality but it does include a column for In Use tokens (this for me was a must), calculations for how many more trade ingredients could be made, amount of GP available for trade into reserve tokens, overall value (as given by the Token Guide Pricing), etc.

Enjoy!

Okay ... thanks everybody for your advice and hijacking ... :)

Anyway ... I ended up buying a 300 chip WPT poker chip case ... I hope they fit ... I'll let you know how it works out when it arrives ... it has like six rows so I figure I could probably organize them fairly well in that - although I'll have to work on making some type of dividers so that I can tell where things are ...

I figure I'll still keep some of those binder sheets (since I bought like 50 of them) and just top them off with clear packing tape ... that sounds nice and secure for things that have to been seen but do not have to be removed ... I hope that I don't have to buy a wheeling suitcase for them (although they are pretty heavy) ... and I don't think I have so many that I need to index them in a spreadsheet yet ;)

It was the blonde with the New York accent and the long sword on the first Conan who said "Do you want to live forever?" and then proceeded to jump into a pit with a giant snake.

She was great except for the accent. The producer must have been slipped a fifty or lost his mind when he saw her, but she talked like she was stepping off the NY subway.

Never really noticed the accent. Time to go WIKI and see if she was from NYC.

OK here is what WIKI said...(man she spells her name wierd!)

Sandahl Bergman (born November 14, 1951) is an American dancer, stuntwoman, and actress who is known for her performances in B-movies in the 1980s and 1990s.

Bergman was born in Kansas City, Missouri. She is 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m) tall. Bergman's movie career began in 1978 with a small role in the TV film How to Pick Up Girls. She followed this in 1979 with a noted appearance as a dancer in the Bob Fosse film All That Jazz. In the 1980 movie Xanadu, she appears as a muse during the song "I'm Alive" by ELO. She is the fourth muse, although she is listed as Muse #1 in the movie credits.

Bergman's participation in Xanadu also led indirectly to her eviction from her apartment in New York and her subsequent relocation to California. She had been subletting her apartment in New York in defiance of a clause in her agreement with her landlord, and during her four months in California for filming, he became aware of the situation. Bergman says that she never returned to New York, instead having friends pack and ship her clothes to her.[1]

Her best-known role was playing Valeria opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in the 1982 film Conan the Barbarian. She won the Golden Globe Award for New Star Of The Year - Actress, the last ever awarded, for her role in the film. She played a different character, Queen Gedren, in another Robert E. Howard film, Red Sonja, in 1985. After that, she appeared in many undistinguished films, such as 1987's Hell Comes to Frogtown. Her most recent work was in 2003, when at the age of 52 she appeared as a dancer in the film version of The Singing Detective.

She also appears briefly as a lunar base officer in the movie Airplane II: The Sequel.

In total she has appeared in 40 different films and television programs, and has also been active on the stage, appearing in productions of A Chorus Line, among others.
:jacked:

And uh, what other types of poker chip cases do others use? - just the little clear plastic ones?

I chose the WPT 300 chip poker chip case becoz it has that little hinge which helps to keep it open and the foam top - those seemed like good features to have for a chip case ... and I had read some reviews that a lot of the chip cases have very flimsy handles (which tend to break under the weight of the chip case) but this one is supposed to last a lifetime ...

:P
