OK, this is going tooo far. I had a dream where I found someone selling a package of 10 of the reserve tokens at the mall for $10. Of course, hubby was in a hurry, so I only got to buy one pack - sorry, everyone else, that one's for me! Please feel free to email him and let him know that I need more time at the mall sometimes....

binia

Are you adding yourself to the tokenholics list? ;)

As a penance for that dream, and to hopefully ward off full tokenholism, I gathered up a pile of tokens to put in Henwy's take one, leave one box. Must....force....self...to....leave...only..........no....taking......

except maybe just a couple of chippies since I have almost none....

binia

*bump*

we started some really good lists/"you might be..." on this thread. you already got some, but there might be some good ones that you missed.

in getting shirts made this year, i asked tons of questions. one of the things i learned was trying to get to much writing on a shirt is very tricky. you will lose some of the adhesion element, because letter size will have to be smaller. if you are going for a list on the back that will be something to consider.

Adding these from another thread:

You might be a tokenholic if:

...if the post office personnel at the 24/7 post office recognize you and know you ship tokens
...if you were seriously weighing the choices between an engagement ring for your girlfriend and your next token purchase...and she is still waiting
...You refer to your spouse as "The Enabler"
...The words PLEASE BUY RESPONSIBLY hurts your ears!
...if you're going for a second set of plats
...if you dipped into the grocery money for tokens.
...if 'Nilla Wafers and Gummi Bears make you think of tokens, not snacks.
...if you have a pixie for a friend.
...if you have borrowed or loaned a Horn of Plenty.
...you cringe hearing about babies, dogs, and cats chewing on tokens!
. . . . When pondering ordering tokens, you think of the movie quote from waterboy, You Can Do it!
. . . . When thinking if you'll get in trouble with your wife for it, you think of the quote from waterboy, What momma don't know, won't hurt her.
. . . . You give or receive tokens for christmas.
. . . . Remind friends, family, coworkers, or complete strangers you want tokens for christmas.
. . . .Think your wife would look really hot with a token tattoo
. . . .. Remind your wife you'd accept her getting a token tattoo as your christmas present.
...if you've requested your gravestone to have purple text
...You get more excited about finding gp tokens in the mail than finding $5 in your pocket.
... If you dream of tokens.
. . .. If you wonder if your insurance company will accept GP.
. . . . If you remind me of the babe.
. . . .If you think the Ring of Regen. would make a wicked tattoo.
. . . .If you've ever had to sleep on the couch cause you had to order one more pack
. . . If you think you could propose to your sweetheart with a 200gp Ruby Ring
. . . If you've considered using drug money to buy more tokens
. . . If you carry a token with you at all times and rub it like a meditation stone
. . . the baby has used a token as a teething ring.
.. . . the dog has used tokens as chew toys.
. . .. the cat has run off with your precious purple token.
. . . . . the kids have been taught to say 'No more tokens'
. .. the power got shut off cause buying tokens took higher priority.
. . . the prenuptual agreement was to protect your tokens.
. . . . the tokens have been insured for more than your house or spouse.
. . . .the tokens have been insured for more than your house AND spouse

since we have established that there are a quite a few tokenholics out there, perhaps now we can find out how long they have been addicted. some of you will be like myself and the addiction would have started the first time you played TD. some of you it will be after you had played for a year or two. either way, it would be interesting to see something on this. =D

jeff cunningham,
smakdown.....tokenholic since 2005.

And don't forget the offspring!
You need kids and babies shirts that say Tokenholic in Training.
I'm thinking of Widseth and Indyhalfling.
Widseth's grandkids ask if he brought his tokens when he visits and Indy used a token to teach Callum to crawl.

If that isn't Tokenholics in training I don't know what is. heehehhehe =D

I remember sitting in the "stand by" line in 2004. Waiting and hoping that someone would not show up. And so I thought, what the heck, I might as well buy just one bag tokens while I wait. How much harm can one bag do?

Open bag, didn't find +1 sword. Oh well, I am going to be here a while, I guess I can buy another bag or two.

And so it begins.....

You laugh!!!! My addiction has turned young children into monsters. I expect to see them under freeway bridges looking for tokens.

Just last night they came over. I was downstairs peacefully napping when three small voices almost in unison said, "Grandpa, wake up. We need to trade."

I opened my eyes and there they stood. 9 year old granddaughter with a binder and cover page with scanned in pictures of tokens and titled Nicole's Tokens. 7 year old grandson with his binder and a castle on the cover page. 5 year old grandson with a legos box turned into a token holder with bags of tokens inside.

My granddaughter said, "I need to trade these boots you gave me." "What's wrong?" I asked. She said, "They are boots of elvenkind and they are no good for me because I'm not a thief. I'm a paladin and I want the boots that you and Grandma wear."

Then my grandson said, "I need to get rid of this small shield, the short sword, and this sling." (I thought, join the club). Then he said, "I need some of those red weapons. Nevermind--where are the purple ones?"

The 5 year old was quiet, but I could see he was doing his own trading out of the box and bags that I had under the table. He was trading a sword for a sword. Leather armor for leather armor. I thought this is good, but then I realized he was trading all his gold for platinum tokens.

Where did they learn this? Maybe it is just inherent in the addiction.

Widseth

That would be SoCal of 2004 when the madness started and I'm just a comparatively little fish, but hooked none the less.

Widseth
