TOPIC: What is the maximum to-hit bonus needed?

In D&D a 1 is a guaranteed miss. I know at least 1 DM last year was adjudicating slides like this way when he told us that if we could bump the barbarian just a little bit we could end the encounter. I successfully bumped him from 1 to 2 and we successfully defeated the force cage before it could force cage us to death. You bring up a good point though. This would be a good thing for further clarification.

I like the decision that was made but it does create the counter-intuitive situation where a slide on the background can be a hit, but a slide on a section of the silhouette with no numbers is a miss.

Not arguing that, but since this game is based on D&D, clarification that this is one of the many cases where the rules diverge would be nice.

Sorry Laz et al., Jeff just confirmed sliding into a natural 1 is an automatic miss. My apologies for not thinking of that earlier. The earlier post has been updated.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

Man I wish there way a way to get a nonplayable set of the joke tokens in physical form. Kind of like a magic the gathering un-set XD

Maybe we can convince Jeff to throw them in as an Adventurer's Guild reward.

Aw, dang. I was going to point out that I thought the "auto miss on a natural 1" rule was only for D&D versions 3 and later, and thus it could be possible to make the case that a natural 1 shouldn't necessarily be an auto-miss. But since True Dungeon's mechanics are obviously based on the 3.x D&D sets, I guess I shouldn't be surprised.
