hmmm, what is that turn damage anyway...lemme see...last time I tried to turn in 2005 it was 1-4...now with the better Holy item it is what 2-5?

I think we can safely say turning stinks! It does not even have a shot at driving the undead away! PEE-YEW!

You want to go ahead and buff up the undead turning thing...BMG...but don't even claim that as a perk of the Men in Robes!

Turn damage is 1-8, just like CLW.
hmmm - ok

2-9 turning (assumes better holy thingy)
3-12 with skull (plus strength)...or
3-10 hammer (plus strength)...or
3-10 GMace (plus strength)...or
3-6 sling (plus bullet, maybe dex)...or
1-10 thunderstone (plus dex)...or
8 thunderstone...or
Heal someone...or
ok point made?

no? Is Turn Undead automatic hit? That might help a tad bit?

I think Turn is auto-hit, with damage based on the bead check. Plus, if not mistaken it affects all undead in the room. Which, granted, has never been an issue, but in a room with 4 Skeletons, it might be nice to have some good Turning.
Not sure if it affects all undead in a room - that would need a Jeff ruling. Damage is based on a bead check, so it is automatic. Only once per room, though.
Affecting all in the room would balance it nicely, since you can only do it once per combat, anyway. And 8hp is meager to a Vampire, but nice against 4 Skeletons - and we hardly ever face multiple monsters, but it would be a nice power to have if we did. Like Gary pointed out, nearly every Rare/UR Cleric weapon option has better damage than 1-8. I'm not saying the Cleric needs much pumping up, but the Turn Undead power is pretty weak if it only affects a single target.
Turning would be interesting if it factored in the PLAYER level...say +1hp per player level! Now we are talking!!!!

Tokens like death's door should be in short supply. It should not be easy to raise someone from the dead. I would not oppose adding one raise dead to the cleric spell list, and I also would not want to see the market flooded with death's door or something similar. That being said, I agree that most if not all purple consumables, even raise deads, will not be used (probably won't even enter the dungeon).
Of all the traits of humanity, there is only one we do not share with other species, which sets us apart and makes us unique
-- the ability to imagine.

Shall we sing a song for the poor paladin. Preachy, but not a divine scroll reader. Smite-y, but not a turner of undead. Opinionated, and yet no one listened to you when you said the evil outsider was not evil. How unloved you must feel!

I also feel tokens like Death's Door should be in short supply. Hopefully it will stay out of print for at least a few more years. I wouldn't mind not having any more resurrection tokens, it would add more of an element of danger to the Dungeons. I wouldn't want a Resurrection spell for the Cleric, that seems too powerful, and really could lead to a "he only resurrected his friend" type of situation. Plus - if there is to be resurrection capability, I'd rather it be a token to help spur tokens sales, instead of a spell.

Here's the new token, just perfect for Gary!

CLERIC-ONLY Token: Resurrect all other players (Druids are restored to full HP, everyone else at 1 HP =D ), all for the measly cost of the Cleric's life and *soul*. (Potion of Death's Door doesn't work since this token consumes the Cleric's soul. And Savior Stone is ineffective if you want the actual benefit of resurrecting others).

I think this would make the Cleric especially powerful (and *everyone's* friend)! Whatcha think about this?
