I was excited to see that as well and it has Adrienne Paul (personally I like Christopher Lambert but I guess he's getting to old) So yeah got that set to Tivo. Thanks for posting it.

Yea, sci-fi movies don't generally blow my skirt up but I'm an old highlander fan from back in the day.

Has anyone here ever played assassin in college? Back in the early to mid 90's, a couple of friends and I got a whole bunch of people together and did a highlander version of this over the course of 3 months with wooden bokens and a $20 a piece buy-in that went into a pot and winner take all.

There can be only one!

Unfortunately it wasn't me but I got close. My friend Dave just had longer arms and I couldn't get inside...lanky bastard!

Didn't really care much for this flick. I "liked" it because it was Highlander, but there just wasn't much of the "gool old stuff" or a good storyline to it to be on my good list. Anyone else care to comment?
I recorded it but haven't had the opportunity to watch yet. Whatever the quality, once you've put Highlander 2 into the mix there's nowhere to go but up.

Personally... I'd just erase it and spend the time doing something else. I didn't care for it at all. I was a fan of the series, so was rather dissappointed. Too many bad cliches with the state of the world, etc.

I did like seeing Methos as well. Always liked that character.

I really didn't care for the ending, A friend of mine said it best, "They should have listened to their own motto and stopped after the first movie. There can be only one!"

Good one Indy yeah Methos is awesome (and dreamy lol sorry) I was a huge fan of the series and the first movie (How can you beat Christopher Lambert and Sean Connery in the same movie) So upon watching it again I agree with you it wasn't really worth it.

I don't know if it was messed up due to editing, or if they ran out of creative steam at the end, but most of it was fine until the last few minutes or so. The build was fairly well paced and then, bleah... I am not saying that I dislike the concept, they just dropped the ball on execution.

I think you are right, they should have quit with the first, and then maybe the series (ignoring the movie), but all the other stuff trying over and over again to "explain" things kept making me feel as if they believe we are idiots incapable of using our own imagination. It is possible for me to just assume there is some "reason" why the immortals were here and not have to provide a nice tidy story for it.

Dave
After finally watching it, I think the premise was good as were the main characters, but the execution, especially towards the end (as someone already pointed out), was weak.

The first movie was good, and the series was excellent, but it seems that the rest of the movies (not counting 2 which just didn't even happen at all as far as I'm concerned...denial is a beautiful thing) just lacked in depth and direction. Of course, part of the issue lies in the inconsistent fiction.
