TOPIC: are you ready for some football

Re: are you ready for some football 16 years 6 months ago #133
10 points? The Pats will score ten points just walking onto the field. Saying they've beaten no one but the 'boys is not saying much - the teams that have played the Pats look bad b/c they are being compared to the Pats! (then again, the Jets and Dolphins are just flat out bad - sorry, Jeff.)

The Colts are a top-tier team, but are second to the Pats. Their (the Colts) defense is better than last year's, but that's not saying much. The Pats offense is WAY better than last year's, and that's saying ALOT!

I can't see either team scoring fewer than 21 points, and I think the Pats will score alot more.

GO PATS!

And in the end Vinitari will kick the winning field goal for the Colts.

That lucky man (and great kicker) is laughing all the way with SB rings from two teams!

Vinatieri hasn't been as money as he used to be. I think we should have kept him, though. Of course, he's less of a traitor than Johnny Damon!
Was Vinatieri traded or signed as a free agent? I always thought it was pretty stupid of the Patriots to let him go in the first place and then to let him go to a team you play every year.

Kim

The Patriots have no one but themselves to blame for not retaining his services. I'll be curious to see which team he goes into the hall of fame with. I see him winning at least one more super bowl with Indy.

Kim

Is the Football Hall of Fame like the Baseball HoF, where the player is identified as a member of a particular team? If so, I would have to guess he'd go in as a Pat - he doesn't have the same rep as a clutch kicker in Indy, and didn't really play a role in Indy's SuperBowl win last year (didn't need to).

I agree the Pats should have kept him, but I think he made a mistake in leaving them. They made an offer, but not enough to keep him, since he wanted more money.

When you don't negotiate with someone like you want to keep them, this is the result.

Kim
