TOPIC: Will we see TD at another WYC?

Will we see TD at another WYC? 6 years 2 months ago #1

Will we see TD at WYC sometime in the near future, or was it a one time deal. I still see that TD remains a Platinum level sponsor, but will it run there again?

My very unofficial opinion - not anytime soon.

I enjoyed WYC, if not the Wyndham itself. I'm going again this year for other games. But I'm not staying at the Wyndham.

Space is a significant limitation. There was one dungeon only. And it was a squeeze to fit that one into the available space.
D&D teaches all the important lessons in life - the low blow, the cheap shot, the back stab, the double cross. - Jerry Marsischky

Let them trap us. We have our swords. - Elric of Melnibone.

You try to get them to play the game, but all they want to do is play the rules. - Ardak Kumerian

I do not love the bright sword for its sharpness, nor the arrow for its swiftness, nor the warrior for his glory. I love only that which they defend - Faramir

My friends and I loved True Dungeon Celebration (and the True Realm before that) and were really hoping there would be another one this year. I do hope that it comes back. :)

So, moving forward, WYC would have to be able to offer TD more space or just a larger, possibly nearby, venue in which it could host at least two separate runs for TD to come back to WYC.

Well, the new format has all four dungeons at each Con. Its my assumption that any new Con would have to allow for that. But again, thats my very unofficial opinion.

Is GameHoleCon expanding to 4 runs? Great news if so, but I missed it. It was a lot of fun with 2 runs last year.

Both of these adventures are presented in two different formats (for a total of four different events). Each adventure is available in a "combat-oriented" or "puzzle-oriented" version and are named accordingly. For example, one event title will be "Odin's Haven (puzzle-oriented)." Two of the rooms in the combat-oriented adventures are combats whereas those rooms in the puzzle-oriented modules have puzzles to solve. The other five rooms in the adventures are identical.

All I remember is the rooms sucked. Heating and AC didn’t work
Correctly
The loading dock
Was busted and told they were
Not going to fix it.

Batteries being stolen out of vehicles.
House keeping not doing their job( dirty towels and sheets)

3am fire alarm and all doors unlocked and stayed unlocked

Awesome, definitely making it easier to consider skipping Gencon or at least not give myself a stroke trying to get in all 4 variants between a potential volunteer schedule.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Loud, drunken party down the hall which required a security intervention.
Loud drunks in the parking lot during the fire alarm evacuation.

Yes, that last year was a real treat.
