Exactly. It was the same number of runs. Just starting earlier and running later over 3 days and not 4

Extra runs - means in addition to the runs on the first three days. We would love to have Sunday back, for us Sunday was great! Less competition for runs, since we stay until Monday.

Ah. Well, sure.

That assumes there is an additional 300-400 volunteer-hours available to staff the extra runs. I'm under the impression it's a already a challenge to get enough help.

For the record, we will miss Sunday, too. Its lack limits the options for full-time volunteers. (Of all the full runs we requested, we were unlucky and got zero, just three random tickets for our party of four.) But I get that they don't want to be loading the trucks until midnight on Sunday. And, it was kind of creepy to be on one of the last couple of runs and hearing The Nothing coming up behind you.

For some background, my GENCON pretty much revolves around TD. I play 3 runs with friends on Thurs-Saturday each year and then take my family of 4 on a run on Sunday during Family Day. Just having more runs on the other days really does nothing to help me. School in Indiana starts the first week of August, so bringing my boys to GENCON before the weekend isn't an option.

The best I could do now to try to get back to parity with prior years for my family would be to buy 3 additional day passes (and get a refund on the Family day pass -- $120 increase in my costs) and then HOPE to be able to get tickets on Saturday for all of us while competing with all the added competition from everyone else who can only attend on the weekend.

Again, just seriously disappointed. Hopefully you reconsider in planning future GENCON events as my sons really do love playing TD.

If you are in range of Columbus, Ohio, TD is now at Origins. At this point there are a lot of tickets available for TD. Since its mid June, school should not be a factor.

Another consideration - if they are looking for experience for their account they cannot get that from Origins and only get it from True Dungeon. So no point going to Origins if you want experience points.

I was on one of the last Sunday runs once, it was pretty cool knowing the Dungeon was being dismantled right behind you.

GENCON seems to start unofficially start earlier and earlier. Most people in my group will be at GENCON Tuesday morning, and the hotel staff said the crowds start by Tuesday. I wonder if set-up might start a day earlier someday and non-Golden Ticket runs might be offered on Wednesday.

are you sure about this, I thought(i am sure someone has it bookmarked somewhere) that you can get experence if you run the dungeons at other cons and have not run them before (so if you only go to Origins you get it, but if you go to GC,GHC and origins, you only get it from one place)

I think the part relevant to choosing another con instead of gencon to gain xp is: gencon is the first time new xp is available for the year. So, if you want gencon 2017 xp, going to origins in 2017 wont help...BUT, if TD is at origins in 2018, that would let you get the 2017 gencon xp*.

The problem with a Wednesday runs is Gencon it's self.

Because the Convention doesn't officially start until Thursday. No events may charge if run on Wednesday. Meaning if TD was to start offering Wed. runs, they would have to be ether Golden ticket runs, or Free.

Maybe there's a way around that. Like, sell a token package for $250 that includes a free Wednesday run instead of a PYP. That's not that different from how Golden Ticket runs are awarded, although these would just be regular runs. Or $100 gets you 4 token packs or a special token and a "free" run.

That could be an option.

Without considering Jeff's need to set up TD and and difficulty in doing Wed. runs might offer.

I'm sure Gencon would be very vocal in allowing it. Considering how much they dig into each ticket sale, it's got to be pretty deep.

$62 at Gencon
$42 at Origins
$40 at Gamehole con
And not sure what TD Celebration cost.

Kinda says Gencon digs deep into each ticket cost for the room usage if Jeff charges the same for his cost at all conventions.

Offering runs on Wednesday, even if doable through legal chicanery, does not help the people who need them on Sunday.

And, again, there are always people wiling to volunteer to play, but not always people who will take an extra vacation day and volunteer to help run it.

And it creates volunteer issues. When do you do training? How many volunteers are needed?
