TOPIC: Closest hotel to TD?

For once I might get a chance at a good room in the lotto. Which hotel has the closest and best access to Lucas Oil Stadium? It looks like it's Crowne Plaza but I can't remember if there are doors to the outside right there.

I'm going to have a cart to roll so it would be great if I can get between my hotel and the TD area without any stairs.

Kirk, per the map at the below link, the Crowne Plaza appears to be the closest. It does appear that there is a walkway, I don't know if there are outside doors to Lucas Oil Stadium there. Maybe you could call the Crowne Plaza and ask.

There's an elevator at the walkway between the crowne and the hallway down to Lucas Oil so as long as it isn't out of order I would think you would be fine with a cart. I forget if there is an elevator at the stairs/escalator from ICC to Lucas Oil, but I would expect there must have been as it was the only way into the stadium that was open last year I think.

There are stairs and elevators at both spots, so you can get back and forth without going outside.

Yes from Crowne Plaza you take the skywalk across and then there is an elevator. Then going through the underground hallway to Lucas Oil, there was another elevator I believe.

You can't enter the ICC from ground level straight across the street from the Crowne Plaza. You'd have to go a bit more north (or south?) to get to the ICC doors. So, if you have a ground floor room at Crowne Plaza, your best bet would be take the elevator to the second floor, skywalk over, and then elevator down. A little bit inconvenient but doable.

I am in the Crowne Plaza again, I am going to ask for a 2nd floor room near the skywalk when I arrive.

For TD you want Crown. You'll be ok with skywalks and stuff like they said.

How big are the rooms?

if it still matters,... the crown rooms are about the same size as the regular Marriott rooms possibly a touch smaller.
Note that the JW has larger rooms and then its the suites for the largest. If your looking at SQ footage.

I haven't been inside one of the train car rooms at the Crowne Plaza, but they looked cramped. Can someone who's stayed in one confirm or deny this?

Some of those rooms the bed only has like 2 feet or less of clearance.
