TOPIC: Question on releasing tickets back to GenCon.

Question on releasing tickets back to GenCon. 7 years 11 months ago #1

I have a few tickets that I *might* not need due to timing / errors in logic on my part.

If I release these back to gencon, I assume I get refunded?

Has anyone done this before that can explain the process?

Thanks :)

You get a system credit. Not a refund to your card

This does not surprise me :P

I just remember last year where a bunch of tickets came 'open' late Thursday. I had assumed folks actually got a refund .. otherwise .. why 'release' them?

You _can_ refund your (non-generic) event tickets for $$ - they just charge a 5% administrative fee to do so (which covers their payment processor fees on accepting the funds in the first place and then refunding the full amount to you).

Or you can return them for system credit of the whole amount:

BUT! You have only until the pre-registration deadline of June 19th, so don't wait too long.

Or...as an alternative, you could sell them. :) I'm looking for a pair of tickets Sat afternoon or Sunday if you have any of those you don't need. I'd be happy to meet up Thurs or Fri of the con and give cash for them.

I'm still looking for a run or 2 that fits my slots. Odds are you can get the cash quick enough here posting the tickets you're no longer needing.
We're all the kind of people who enjoy the game on a "meta" level. We like talking about the game year-round. We buy tokens. We enjoy crafting. We get together during the off-season if we can. We are a very skewed demographic that way. -Raven

Oh. I'm totally trying to do that .. One of the ones I bought was a duplicate (I must have added two to my cart) and in the other case, I reserved 1/2 of two runs on Saturday .. and now one of the guys is being 'shakey' about going.

I too have 1-2 hole in my schedule that I could run 1 or 2 more :P

It is more like .. if I don't have these figured out by the 18th .. might just drop them .. rather than spend time *at* the con trying to do it .. [or I might just find someone who wants to run it, and let them go for free, under the condition that I keep all their loot etc.]

Do you by chance have some already and want to trade? I have 2 that no longer fit my schedule but I still need the runs.

I'm looking to buy tickets.
So, I'd love to hear the details if the tickets are still available.
