Probably right after Gen Con. I want to wait to try to snag as many Madison local volunteers as possible who went to Gen Con.

Presuming you'll email blast/post it here that you're hiring/shanghaiing volunteers? Definitely interested.

Ok. I'll be there either way. I already have a hotel room. Yes, it's not far for me but traffic on I 94 and the Beltline can be a pain at certain times of the day.

I already booked a hotel too, and signed up to volunteer (would be my first time, if chosen).

From what I saw, TD tickets go on sale 8/1.

So if possible, it would be nice to know prior to then, so I can do a couple TD runs (and board gaming) instead, if not chosen. Although I suppose I could buy TD tickets, and then later return them if I have to, if that's allowed?

I have family in Madison so I will be staying there and can help build/tear down.

You could volunteer and get a free badge and hotel spot! I have need of a lava-fiend NPC....

Having Henwy as the Lava Fiend would be like gaining bard song x 3. Everyone would be trying their hardest to do him in.

Welp, I submitted my volunteer application. I did get that sort of picked last for dodgeball feeling upon hitting the submit button. Oh well. If it goes through I still have to sort out the whole housing situation. Anyone looking for a roommate who already has a room?

I was debating on offering crash space for the con, I live about 25 minutes away from the site. People can barter with tokens or whatnot for space. I have a spare bedroom maybe two if I make the kid stay at his grandparents for the weekend.

Gamehole is a great con.

Last year, I organized an event for some friends to honor someone who passed a number of years ago.

You can read the background here.

At Gamehole, two books owned by the person for that memorial were passed around and signed by ex-TSR staff at the show. They were given to two of his friends before we all started playing. Ernie Gygax, whom I now consider a friend - and has always been an amazingly generous fellow, thought it was a great idea - and helped get everyone on board.

In short. Gamehole, especially if you have any history with older games, is very similar to what GenCon was like when I used to work it - before it moved to Indy. It is gamer friendly, very low-key, and gaming focused.

You won't regret going.
I used to be an industry professional responsible for making sure Japan was able to buy some of the best toy soldiers ever made.

Now I'm just an old gamer :)

I am hoping Jeff needs non-local volunteers for this. I may be able to make the trip if I can stay somewhere for cheap :)

Spiffy. In which general direction is your home NSEW from the convention center. If I end up going, I'll probably hitch a ride with a friend from Indianapolis and he's probably going to crash with friends in the area. If I'm going to impose on him for a ride to and from the con each day, I'll need to make sure it's at least generally on his way.

+1, yep me too. Like to see how a non gencon is and i've done the madison travel bit before. Not too bad once past Chicago.

I'm still debating on whether to attend. The GamingHole site doesn't seem compatible with my phone, and couldn't access the info. Now, I hear the hotel is booked and travelling in November is atrocious. Traveling four hours to Indy is alot easier than ten hours to Madison. Worse, the ferry from Ludington to Green Bay shuts down two weeks before the Con. It seems the obstacles are stacking up. :(
True Dungeon IS teamwork. Tokens offer a better chance of survival for the team. :-)
