No
Do not ask to do that.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

Raven wrote: Please. Don't.

Advice. Totally. Heeded :)

I think that is a fair point that I will already be causing enough confusion by coming in late, I totally don't need to add more on top of it.

Being *that guy* is pretty much the last thing I would want to be.
That doesn't encourage folks to come back next year.

The only reason I was thinking of leaving info there was actually more along the lines of Raven's point.
I want to offer to play a support type class to be more 'helpful', but didn't want to introduce a last minute 'hey .. can I help you guys by playing a Cleric' after someone has spent 15 minutes working on a character.

I guess in the end of the day, I don't really care what I play if it is a 'normal' run .. I don't want to swipe a spot from someone who is dead set on being a cleric.

Maybe it will be better to just ask them what they think they need? Who knows .. maybe I'll finally get to play a bard ..

although my singing will pretty much guarantee a lack of healing on the party's part :P

I agree. If you are going to come in late into an unknown group, I think you have two good choices:

1) Have pre-printed stats for every single character so that you can play whatever is left and hand the coach your stats.

2) Do a blind 10-pack run. Pick a remaining character, open your 10-pack, and build a character with only those tokens.

Trying to do anything more is going to be a pain all around.

you don't have to have all 12 characters on the sheet, 10 will do. If 9 players pick before you you still get your 10th pick. For PUG runs I show up with a character sheet without wizards filled in because I know with 10 people I will never have to play one.

I have a build for every class on my phone app. I believe my wizard is my "Cranky old man' build that is +17 to hit and +20 to damage with a rod of niltounge.

My advice would be to check I'm to both runs, let the check in staff know your going to be late and what time the run will be. As others have said please don't do anything that will change other people stats after your arrival. If you want to give the coach a heads up your going to be late that's cool. If you have preprinted stats (strongly recomended) ask the coach if they want a copy so they can prefill if no one wants your preferred class, but make sure to keep a copy for when you actually arrive in case the one you left with the coach gets lost.

In short let everyone know ahead time, check in, and have preprinted stats when you arrive if at all possible.

Well we could go at this another way, Hey Steve

I have a random PUG (puzzle) event that I purchased during event registration at 11:25a.

What event is this?
If its Behold Her Majesty Thursday, then problem solved for you because I happen to know who will likely be the coach for that run. :)

Ha. The event in question is TDA-1695587 Deeperdark Puzzle 11:25a on Thursday.

So close. Right time, right side of the hall.

:)

it is all good. I think I might take the opportunity to play a random class that I don't usually play. Means I can be crazy and have fun with it ;P

I'm considering a run 2 hours before another run. As suggested I would pre-register, stats on app, coordinated class with group ahead of time and let a friend have a picture of my stat line.

Do you think with 2 hours I'll still be late?

The run takes 2hrs so if you skip the treasure pulls you should be ok but you'll want to go directly there. Often players get held up along the way so if your run is only 2hrs apart that leave very little wiggle room.
And yes please and thanks for having a pre-printed character and backup options ready to go. Would suck for you to get there and have to fight over a character or not have another option if your primary isn't secured by someone.

Also be prepared for a quick verification. We're required to check all token enhancers and I know many of us check "the good stuff". Many times players have these stored if they are coming from a previous run and it can take time to get them back out get them verified and then put them away again.

You WILL be late.
But like you said, pre-registering (including signing the releases), and having pre-generated stats should make everything fine.

Thanks guys, I'll go for it. I have all my tokens for the build in a binder so verification should be quick.
