12 packs will cost $96.

30 packs costs $250, plus you get to choose a UR that you could keep, or sell for about $90-100

And so it begins...

Yeah, I already have the ultra rear pack in my cart. seems like the better value when i can get a token with a $100 value. Thinling the +2 deadly drow blood mace or the redought mail.

Both are good choices... the Goggles of Instant Analysis would be good, too...

If you plan on reselling the UR token you buy, here are ones I would expect to fetch the best price (YMMV):

Goggles of Instant Analysis (one went on eBay for $110 in the past few weeks)
Kvothe's Bloodless (slotless tokens tend to hold up well in value because they can always fit into a build)
Amulet of Treasure Finding (treasure generating tokens have a long track record of appreciating)
Gloves of the Brute (STR boosters are always in demand)

The Amulet of Treasure did draw my attention, I was just thinking maybe I should get something that would give my character and team some pluses.

I'd be cautious about getting a UR only usable by a subset of classes.

The Mace is great, but it's only +1 over a rare. The Gloves Matt mentioned would give you +3 hit and damage (thrice the bonus) for any melee class (even a weaponless Monk) for -1 AC and Reflex. So, is that better? Maybe. Maybe not.

AoTF can get you more treasures, which gives you more equipment and trade bait, but at about $2 per draw, you have to play about 12 times to pay for it. But you're right, it does nothing to help you in the dungeon.

There's a lot to consider.

Both are very good choices. I use the Gloves myself and am looking to pick up the Goggles.

Those are both pretty universally appealing - and they have high impact on your build right away as long as you have a melee class.

For $100 I could give you a list of Rares to buy from various token shops so that you could run any melee class with gear in each slot.

A rare weapons costs $5, an Ultra-Rare weapon costs $100. And you only get a +1 benefit from the Ultra-Rare over the rare.

I understand the draw to opening packs, but if you want to min-max your purchase then rares are the way to go.

Usimg the TDdb can be time consuming for figuring out the best Tokens to use for every Character Class and which ones overlap. I recommend using Cranston's True Dungeon Character Generator. It's so easy to use and I believe it's a free app. And, even better, a large chunk of us TD Forumites have the link for it in our Signatures. ;)

Have you checked the Token DataBase ?
