TOPIC: Wednesday Night Meetup / Trading?

It is less than a week to go and I don't believe I've seen a thread about a possible meet up / trading session on Wednesday as I've seen in the past. I have to head to the convention center for will call Wednesday and will be getting there earlier this year, so I figured I'd poke my head in if there was such a meet up going on.

Is anyone planning anything somewhere?

I assumed it would be in the same time and place as every year. Food court just down from TD around 5pm

The food court inside the convention center right by the entrance to the Marriott? I think thats the hotel TD used to be in.....

What I assumed, some of us will be earlier (volunteers and the like) and others will be late. I will be around before training (hopefully) and likely late post 10pm if anybody has interest/still hanging around.

Sit down open your bag/binder/tacklebox and we tend to gather out of curiosity anyways.

I plan to be there for awhile before/after the GT run.

A friend of mine usually starts this thread every year. I've been a bad friend and haven't talked with him in awhile. So not sure, but I know he had a bad experience last year in TD, and might be skipping it this year. May be why no one started it sooner.

Anyway last year there was always people around different times on Wednesday anywhere from 1:00-2:00 in the afternoon, till post Golden Ticket run. So stop by the Food court by the Marriott entrance and you'll likely run into TDers to trade with.

Since the GT run starts at 5pm, it might actually be a little quieter right after 5.

What Dave Harris says is accurate, tho: People tend to show up in the Food Court area (near the elevator to the Marriott Hotel) in the early afternoon, and spread out their tokens. There's usually 2 or 3 tables worth of people hanging out there off & on, 'til after the GT run and volunteer training are over.

This is a very common place for people to meet up & conclude any in-person trades which were arranged online, or to pick up a few last-minute token deals.

BTW, Dave.. I'm sorry your friend had a bad experience. That really sucks. I hope our crew does a better job of making the event a positive experience for everyone, this year... and that your friend feels comfortable coming back (this year, or later.)

I'll be there (food court outside of halls B/C) from about 2PM until about 4PM on Wednesday night, then off to training and GT run, and then I'll be back in the area say around 7:30 until around 9PM.

I have lots of people to meet for trades, however if you want anything from me please let me know in advance (as I'm flying I won't have much of my token collection with me).

I don't know for sure if they are playing or not. It's a long time group, that had some deaths very early from a lot of bad try/push damage on puzzles and felt it was a little over the top. Hopefully they will be back.

Definitely I'm hoping we can meet up before the 4PM training.

I hope we are done building early.
