TOPIC: WYC questions to which I can't find answers...

WYC questions to which I can't find answers... 9 years 1 month ago #1

Will there be treasure coins? Computed Like gen con or modified? (Good to know for using greed item slots)

How about experience, (good to know when arguing over difficulty)

Thanks in advance, for knowledgeable answers

Yes treasure. No experience.

No XP, but I thought there was treasure for the dungeon run.

Yes, full treasure. What I'd like to know is: what will be in the treasure chest, and can I use my pre-order 5x draws if I want to?

Hoping it will be the 38% rare, 38% uncommon, 23% trophies, 1% special as it was at GenCon last year. Although I'd be just fine accumulating more coins to use at GenCon.

Yeah, I'm fine deferring the treasure draws until GenCon, but it would also be an opportunity for something a little different as well.

Assuming there are monster bits I'd be curious to know which year they will be from.

Or perhaps it will just be a big surprise?

I seriously doubt there will be 2015 monster bits in there. That would put pressure on the calendar for the Icecrag earcuffs. Unless there are 2013 bits in there, I'm thinking I'll be saving them up for GenCon to ensure I get the 2015 bits I need for two Earcuffs.

The problem with including 2015 monster bits is it would be a spoiler for some.

I suspect there wont be monster bits in the box but I could be wrong.

I could see some older bits in there. The ones that have been mulched for fleeces. Assuming Jeff saves those.

But an absence of bits would lead me to save up for Gencon. Barring a return of the 2013 style bonanza. Like that would ever happen...

Thanks !

Thought I read something Attributed to the Higher Powers about the idea that if we're paying (nearly) full, price for tickets, we should get full rewards. Weren't there other non-gen con runs, like in California that earned XP?

Curious why we're even doing added difficulties if it's true, seems like extra DM work for no reason - although I do get why we do them at Gencon, and have been working to ensure we get at least hardcore now (seems hard to do for WYC, and that's the reason I'm asking)

Looking forward to the run regardless, I've only been playing these past four years and the vets tell tales of the old runs I missed...

XP is always a big debate, Jeff said that at least this time around there would be no XP. There are those who are in a close race for the highest XP and some think it wouldn't be fair to require them to attend every separate TD event to keep up.

The best suggestion I heard was: at GenCon you only get the highest XP for a specific dungeon, even if you run it multiple times. Why not extend that to WYC, so somebody at WYC could get credit for one dungeon, but if they run both dungeons at GenCon they still only get max credit for 2 dungeon runs for the year.

I for one would be pretty bored at normal difficulty :)

You need to try the greedy sealed runs, Kirk. Much more fun trying to squeeze ten classes from ten packs. Even more fun doing the second half with ten more packs and the treasure you pull :)
