TOPIC: Poll: Difficulty Levels

Poll: Difficulty Levels 9 years 8 months ago #1

As a tangent from my proposal I had a few questions for people.

1) How many people chose to run in Non-Lethal mode every year?

2) How many people would meet my description for my proposed Hell difficulty level?

1. Never.

2. I'm not nearly BiS. Purple/Blue with a dash of red.

1. AFAIK, no one I know has done Non-Lethal.

2. I am not close to Best in Slot for everything, but I would still eagerly sign up for a Hell difficulty!

Not a lot of groups run Non-Lethal, but there are some who choose it. It's a "no-cost" option for TD to offer (it uses the same stats as Normal), so I see there being no harm in keeping it around.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?

I ran non-lethal this year with 8 out of 10 new players, and myself and the other experienced member only had a game or 2 underneath us total. Still it was not needed in the end.

1. I've never done non-lethal, and I doubt you will find many people on the forums who ever had. If you're wondering whether enough people do non-lethal runs to keep them as an option, I'm afraid this isn't the best way to find out. Jeff probably has the numbers though. Regardless, it probably doesn't matter. There is no increased complexity for TD to keep the option available.

2. I have a handful of relics, but no legendary/eldrich/artifact. The Hell difficulty sounds cool, but like Druegar I'd prefer Nightmare get harder instead of adding another difficulty.

Had 2 groups choose non lethal this year, was a full time coach.

No relics or better, several URs, likely wouldn't try hell right off but Id get there eventually.

1. Never. (I doubt you'll find that demographic on the forums, tho.)

2). Nope, I don't. But I'd play at highest difficulty anyways, for the fun/challenge.

As a coach (one shift), I had two parties go Non-Lethal. In both cases it was groups of fairly new player that had people who died the previous year and were very unhappy about not being able to participate in the dungeon.

Non-lethal is not generally popular but for the people who use it, it seems the difference between playing TD and not playing TD.

I do nightmare every year but have no interest in something harder.

1. Never.

2. I'm close to about as maxed out as a wizard can be w/o legends rise, but would be willing to try a Hell level if I had a paladin to hide behind!

Don't you realize that with the new Rings of Shared Pain, it is the responsibility of the Wizard to bring their own Rings of Shared Pain and then to convince other parties to use their for the Wizard's behalf? :P

1) Never

2) Always

3) Yes I would do Hellish difficulty. As in another post we discussed the rewards. Higher XP, better treasure, three different rewards. Ayup... I'm all over it!
