TOPIC: A plea to all Rod of Seven Parts holders

Re: A plea to all Rod of Seven Parts holders 9 years 9 months ago #13

Here's the good news, there is very few of us that multiple of them include myself and if the math is correct about 100-180, then it should breeze by it.

The bad news is that there is not enough to pass around to everyone to own one.

Ah, suck..

P.S. Don't forget to check the treasure box before leave out before the fun is over.

keep them a surprise ...I think it will be cooler. It is not like you wont use them anyway..you have 24 minutes and then training room(up to 36 minutes) to get familiarized with the new card. That is a lot of time for one side of a card

TPTB are still deciding whether to keep the sub-classes a surprise or to make them available before Gen Con.

please reveal :)

It would be great to have the list before con for those with the rod.

It'd also be great to see the cards for those others considering buying one :)

some people wont transmute the rod until the con...others will still be trying...the only way to have a list is for people to come forward(which i wont tell how many I have/could have)

Until december 2015, the rods can be made

i guess I dont get the why there has to be a list of who has what and how many

I'm on the "Reveal them as soon as possible" side.

While it might be a nice surprise to do the reveal at Gencon I think things are too hectic. Personally, I would much rather be able to plan out what run I wanted to use the ability.

Please reveal them ahead of time. It will make planning a lot easier and save time at Gen Con.

i guess i dont the planning.
The stats are the same, the characters will just have different abilities...so maybe an extra rage for barbarian
and extra spell for a wizard

I just dont see how/way you have to plan for this
maybe i am missing something

please explain

It is possible that as a result of whatever powers the prestige class has, people will want to change their builds. Better to reveal, so changes can be made in advance.

On another note, might any of you who will have multiple rods be willing to RENT spares out for use at the Con?

I think it is people can't wait until
Xmas morning to open gifts.
An extra rage for a barbarian won't alter a build.
An extra sneak attack for rogue wouldn't alter a build.
Again. I just don't see it.

Spell selection is very important to a Wizard. I could see that affecting choices if there are 2 different subclasses of Wizard. It could lead to the Rod being used by another party member if the subclass doesn't give similar spell access.

I don't know the exact location. All I know is that it will be somewhere within the storyscape and not within the coaching areas.
Have you looked it up in the TDb ?
Please post TDb corrections in this thread .

I had actually considered renting our Rods out for a run along with their single voucher for a use, but the difficulty is that there are very few people that I'm not already running with that I'd trust with the Rod out of my sight. And I'm not saying that forum members would intentionally walk off with them because in general I think the forum members are very honest and reliable, but the rods could get lost, we could have problems hooking up after the run, etc.

Now, if anyone wants to give me 4-5 free tickets on your run in exchange for the use of our four rods and their vouchers for that run, we can talk about that. :)
