TOPIC: Free Tokens and their effect on prices.

Free Tokens and their effect on prices. 19 years 1 day ago #1

It would be very helpful if Jeff could tell us the general ratio of weapon and armor that are going to be given out each party. I know each party's equipment will be random, but he should know what will go in the big pool everyone will draw out of.

Something along the lines of: 40% leather, 30% studded, 20% Chain, 10% banded or what ever the real ratio is going to be.

Three party members are going to want plate, Half-plate or Banded.
If less the 40% of the armor tokens are going to be those types then there will be strong demand. Buying bags of token will help a little but the current token mix only has 1 of those three types of armor in every 12 bags (on average).

If a party is short 1 set of armor they need to buy 12 bags and if they are short 2 sets they need to buy 24 bags. Obviously most teams are not going to buy 24 bags of tokens, so they will have to trade and possibly trade dearly. Upgrading from Studded Leather to half-plate is a bigger jump in AC then adding a +1 ring and +1 amulet to full plate.

Similarly with weapons, every cleric is going to want a heavy mace or +1 mace and every ranger is going to want a long sword, short sword pair.

I hope Jeff is able to make the Weapon and Armor free token ratios public knowledge. I also hope he does it several weeks before Gencon. It will have a significant effect on the value of the Common and Rare items.

Well there should be a +1 mace. Lets add that to Jeff's ULTRA rares list. Imagine just how much you would pay for that.

Okay, being that I am the queen of cleaning allow me to share a bit of insight.

First you take your kids to the local animal shelter. And you trick them into falling in love with a large breed of dog known for drooling. Or in my house a orange and white cat with a propensity for drooling.
When ever you then find yourself in a situation where drool and spittle has manifested itself you call the kids and tell them to clean it up, its their dog and they have to learn responsiblity for the caring of a pet. Or you are secretly teaching them how to take care of you when you are significantly older. ;) Train 'em young.
