TOPIC: One use item?

One use item? 19 years 8 months ago #1

Is the bard instrument that gives +2 to damage a one shot token or no?

I heard or read this somewhere.

Our bard got his hands on it and the GM played it as a bonus to his melee damage and let him keep it throughout. I would think that logically, it would allow him to play his standard bard action song and receive the larger bonus. I'd be curious to see what the real intent of the token was.

You know, there's several tokens which I'd like clarification on. Maybe I'll start a new thred on that. It's sure help with selling/trading tokens if we knew what they did in-game.

The way I played that token was to increase the Bard's standard song from "+1 to hit/+1 to damage" to "+1 to hit/+2 to damage". Seemed like the nature of the token, and I don't believe it was included in this year's token notes. Keeping old token definitions in the training literature might be a good idea, but as the number grows, it may become difficult to remember every possible token meaning. In any case, just like at home, if the rules don't cover it, the DM gets to wing it. :D

As for it being one use? That hardly seems fair, and in my mind should be a permanent item.
