I am happy that we can use multiple types of Runestones per run, not just one (or the current stock of runestones will last just about forever). That said, what does 'type' mean? I am hoping that the wording in the guide means that any different Runestones can be used together in the same run.

Correct, you can not use more than one of any specific runestone.

Dave

So if you wanted you could use a spring, summer, autumn and winter runestone all on the same run? Is this a change from True Realm? I had been told that you could only use one runestone per run.

Kim

if that is true, this is definitely a change from true realm. we could only use one runestone per run, period. i was already collecting the rare runestones planning to have a supply for years to come...but if i can use 4 per run, im gonna run out in only ::counts:: TEN RUNS!?! :) also, this means i now care about which runestone im trading for. ::seperates into piles:: yeah, i need autumn runestones now, only 7 of those left.
so, a little extra trading effort, and double lots more damage (ranger + runestone = awesome).

I can't believe that they would let that stand. If everyone in a party had all 4 of the season runestones and they all hit in a combat round that's 32 points of damage just in bonuses. I like the runestones but that makes them too powerful.

Kim

That also means the party just burned 32 rares for that run. o.o;
Blimey!

I generally agree. It does seem powerful but these are rares. How many rares would a typical player have?

A little common sense needs to be applied here. Teams are usually made up of individuals or at most a couple of people who play together. If only one type could be used this could lead to conflict among the group. It also hurts (significally) the smaller token buyer. Unless you spend about 3K, statistically you will not get 8 runes of the same type (assuming rares).

It also does NOT make sense to allow more than one rune for any one player.

The rule should be: (one rune of any type) (per player) (per adventure)

Runestones have always only applied to the person who used it at the beginning of the adventure. I assert that if a player can only use 1 Runestone per adventure, that makes the 'class' of Runestones too weak. It is an one-shot item and that creates its own limitation for people who wants to use multiple runestones per adventure.

I don't understand what you mean by the last sentence. Please expand.

As far as being weak, I disagree. If 8 people use a runestone each; that's potentially +8 damage for every round of combat. And it lasts the entire dungeon (3 or 4 combats). Assume:
3 rounds per combat
3 combats
50% hit ratio
Then that's an extra 36 points of damage (which I think is significant).

I'd vote for one per player per adventure. If not, a few runs, even Nightmare, will become cakewalk again.

I'd vote for being able to use them all - keeps them in line with the stacking principle - you can't use multiples of the same item (e.g., rings), but you can use as many different items as you have slots for them. It would be like saying you could only drink one potion in a dungeon.
