TOPIC: Mithral chain Shirt in 2010?

I was just curious since the Mithral Set was announced just this year, if we would see the resurrection of the Mithral Chain Shirt in 2010? As not everyone went after one in 2006 (for one reason or another).

I think I remember seeing that it would be released again next year.

That was my recollection as well. There's one on ebay right now that's over $200.

I thought he plan was to have more mithril items, not re-release the mithril chain. Last I heard, there would be up to 5 mithril items. 3 makes a set.<br /><br />Regardless, I'm against the entire idea of re-releasing chippies. It's just a thumb in the eye to people who've been around. Re-releasing woodies is one thing. It helps to just bring them into the current set, not to mention it was before the $250 PYP.  After the chips started, people got to choose what they wanted and plunk down cash for it. It was no longer simply a point of randomness. If every chip comes back in 3 years, then why should people even extend themselves to buy tokens just for collecting purposes.

<br /><br />There are two issues here.  First, woodies are reappering as chippies.  Second, new sets are being created.  We have the Dragonscale Set and the Celestial Set which are now complete and I don't see that the individual pieces will be reprinted anytime soon.  Jeff announced at least two more sets before this year's print run.  One is the Mithral set and the other (not sure what he's calling it) starts with the Crown of Might.  The Mithral set was supposed to have a 3 item power (which I assume will be in this year's Token Guide) and a 5 item power.  The concern from the community was that the set was announced after the opportunity to acquire the Chainmail, and it would have affected buying decisions.  Jeff agreed to reprint the Chainmail next year so those that want the set can complete it (whether the sword will be reprinted, I don't know; there was an opportunity to get the sword after the set was announced and maybe you still can as there are still 2008 tokens available).
