Lost/damaged tokens question. 15 years 6 days ago #1

So I am new to the whole TD, I have been buying some token packs from True Dungeon and I had just purchased some of 2008 tokens they had left over. I have just gotten them in the mail today but the box was partly ripped open, and then resealed in a plastic bag, that basically said, sorry for the inconvenience of your mail being damaged. Out of 12 packs I was supposed to get I got around 12 random tokens left inside the box. I went to the post office, but they said they did not have any other tokens stored in the back. And that because it was not insure that they are not responsible. So has this happened to anyone else? And if so what should I do?

Ed

I'm sure Jeff will do something for you but he is currently taking a well deserved vacation with his family. He'll be back online late next week.

eldrad,

That has happened to my bro in the past. Thus why Lori usually tapes the daylights out of the boxes. Just send Jeff a message and when he gets back in town he will make sure things get replaced. Unfortunately, every once in a while the postal monster tries to eat tokens. They must be just too tempting at times. But don't worry. Jeff is really great about customer service.

Yes, it most certainly does. It seems to especially love to devour the more precious ones that pass through its clutches. Which brings an interesting image to mind. I wonder just how many tokens/chippies over the past 6 years have ended up disappearing into it, never to be seen again.

I have never had any missing but the boxes have taken a beating the last three years in my orders. I could see how they could fall apart. I think I am going to start taking pics of the boxes when they arrive. To show how awesome they look. Is Ace Ventura delivering these?

Somehow I imagine the situation looking somewhat like a dragon sitting on a large heap of the tokens, daring brave adventurers to try to make off with its treasures

I have had one mailing out of maybe 40 go missing...of course it was a valuable package (but I had it insured and after some hassle USPS made good on almost the total amount of the insurance bought).

I recommend hand exchanges at CON over mailing anyday...the risk of breakage is easy enough to avoid...but the one loss can be pretty hurtful.

ALWAYS insure, always return receipt...

It's easy to take the post office for granted but things do get lost in the mail. I've had more lost mail recently than ever before (I had a paycheck even get lost and have to be resent FedEx). Anything of real value should be at minimum sent with tracking if not insurance.

I would agree, as long as you have some way to assure you meet up with the other party. I know that I had one trade that I was trying to get completed at TR that didn't happen because I wasn't able to find a way to contact a person to arrange a meet up.

Other than that, all my in person trades went very, very smooth.

Thank you all for the input. Actually Lori called me this morning, and told me about the vacation. She said just to send her or Jeff a Email next week reminding them what happened and they will send me some replacements. Now I just need to call the post office and tell them they better not do it again. But once again Ty all for your responses.
