TOPIC: 2009 Token Pre-Order Question

What's "special" about the 2009 Token Pre-Order sales?  <br />If memory serves, your tokens will be available at True Realm.  <br /><br />Is this the only difference between between buying tokens now and later?<br /><br />Just asking!  The "specials" themselves are great, as always.<br /><br /><br />(boy... I nearly had the subject as "2009 Toke Pre-Order Question."  LOL

I think it's that the Onyx Proof Tokens won't be available after this.  Which means (I think) that the $8K deal won't be available, and you won't be able to get a Proof Onyx UR with every other $250 purchase.

Thank you Mike, and Jeff for confirming.<br /><br /><br />Jeff - you're just pure evil.      Here I am TRYING to be good and faithful to my family's debt-reduction plan, and now I'm again taunted by "today is the last day for pre-sale orders" along with a reminder that "na-na!  you can only get the onyx tokens NOW!"  LOL  It's almost TOO MUCH!<br /><br />Spend!  Spend!  I want to SPEND!!!!<br /><br /><br />(hope the pre-orders went well)

Thank you, Gary!  I probably COULD use an intervention.<br /><br />I start out by saying "I really should spend the $250 to get a Crown of Might.  It'll provide a +1 to hit (melee at least) for any class I play, so it's the most useful and most beneficial."<br />I then say, "but wait a minute.  The sundering item that rips off 2 AC per hit would be of MUCH use to a party.  Truly!  Can't pass that up."<br />"Hey, if I'm going to spend that much money, I might as well grab the new boots that allow a rogue a +2 to hit during a backstab attempt.  That's useful to the party too!"<br />This goes on until I've hit $1000 or $1250 on my wish list.<br />Then I talk myself down to $250 again.<br />Then I realize that I can get an Onyx token if I spend at least $500.<br />Then I realize I can get The Module AND the Part II of the RoSPs IF I spend at least $1000.<br /><br />It's a terrible rollercoaster ride.  (but I still have fun torturing myself this way....aaaah!)<br /><br />I'm still thinking $250 now.  I'm scheaming (sp) to do $500 now and $500 before the con...working "pager duty" for pay.  In the end, it may only be $250 total, as I initially said I'd limit myself to.<br /><br />The good news is...due to being let go from my previous job and having some additional income from that, including a severance package, we've been able to pay off one card and I just dropped my severance package to slash in half what we owed to or largest debted card.  It's still a seven-year plan from here, but I'm glad I was able to click "pay now" to the card instead of talking myself into so many other things.  Not only do tokens sound good, but so does buying insulation for the house!  <br /><br /><br />

Can we still pre-order tokens?  I only will do the $250 package, so the onyx token deal doesn't apply.<br />

I think today is really just the cut-off for the Onyx deals.<br />

Monday (today) is the final day to order over $500 to get an Onyx proof token.

Feh. I have to sort out this whole token thing at some point. Procrastination has been my middle name so far. I guess it's not horrible if I don't get any onyx tokens.

I must have an invisible Questor's Charm.  Between that and my Roomie's Intervention, I made my saving throw and (sorry, Jeff!) haven't ordered any tokens (yet).<br />I hope to save for the occasion and order closer to the con.<br /><br />Perhaps I'll get lucky and find an Onyx token in the dungeon (or did Jeff rule that out as an option this year?).
