Frankly, I'm a little PO'ed about gearon's mace. I remember last year when people complained about the mace of disruption being underpowered in comparrison to woodie Gearon's. I, and plenty of other people, refuted this by saying it's balanced by the fact that the woodie version was rare and this was a good weapon for the cleric compared to the others. Now, a year later, the reprint comes and I find I owe an apology to those people. They're right and if they did pick up a MoD based on the arguements I and others made, they got #%^&ed. It just makes no sense to have the 1-6/1-8 difference between them.

How would the potions of fire resistance stack (take only half damage) with the ring of elemental fire (take only half damage)?  Would you take no damage or  25% damage?  How would this item interact with the dragonscale items which reduce damage by fixed points, would the bonus of the armor items apply before or after the half damage?    Lastly, this ring, super cool, but is it going to be available to all classes?

Should the Ring of Elemental Mastery be for Wizards of Druids only? I mean there is no reason for anyone not to pick that item if its open to anyone.

<br />Please don't do this. Either do away with the item or make it available to everyone.

An interesting set of lists overall. Good to see another ioun stone, a start to headgear and some other equipment for non fighter classes, including an upper end sling. Yes, there is an overabundance of sling bullets, but I see no potential for harm to play balance in it, so what's the harm? Overall, this still may be a little heavy on the melee combat side, but there's kind of enough of something for everyone in this list as a whole. The most interesting aspect that I see in the 2009 tokens is a continuation and deepening of specific slot overlap, where there are multiple very good choices for certain slots, and the player has to make choices about which token to equip. For example, do I wear the horn of plenty or the amulet of Greyhawk or the amulet of +2 armor? This is only a challenge before your first run, (or until someone tells you) when you don't know what the dungeon contains. I'm not a big fan of switching tokens during the adventure to suit a specific situation, but I guess people should be able to play the way they want to. I think this deepening of this choice requirement adds a lot of depth to the game and will help keep token sales healthy into the future. I see no major changes to gameplay or significant threats to balance (worthy of note on this issue are two more possible AC points to the fighter classes for the serious token investor e.g. bracers of defense +2 and boots of speed) in this year's batch. Add these to the guy with +1 plate and +1 tower shield along with the other AC enhancing stuff and I bet we have a new maximum possible AC.

I know in your request to the gathered to create more items that were class specific, which is why I was a bit surprised when only 4 items came up as being "class specific"<br />(Druid=circlet, Fighter = Boots,  Monk=Gloves, Gearons = Cleric), which is why I am asking if the ring is mage specific or not. Or is the issue there is too much loving for the mage in past years that the ring is now a free for all.

Interesting that you bring up the boots as figher-specific. The way I read that, the boots were open to everyone but the +1 AC was fighter specific. Now that I look at it again, you are probably right.

If the boots were available to everyone, I am not sure I would want it, can you imagine the time sink of oops, let me reslide, especially if you bumped someone.  Horrible time sink.

I suppose that is true. Isn't that the same effect as the feedback loop, which is open to everyone though?
