TOPIC: Last Chance to Give General Token Guidance

The Cleric could use another PURP weapon...

Pelor's War Hammer +3! Or something along the lines of a Foss hammer would be nice!!

From the token picture on the main site, the +1 Broadsword of life stealing is usable by barbarian, fighter, and ranger.

I say avoid any purples that are used up or gems/gold/jewelry. Rather have meat and potatoes items as UR.

Also give the Druid animal summoning and maybe wild shaping. Make some animals tokens to be used with those abilities.

If the +1 staff of striking did not fill the bill - then the staff idea had better be a WIZ only Staff of Wizardry or something...Maybe my UR idea of a +1 staff and an added ring holder? hint hint!

More powerful consumable tokens (as in rare and ultra-rare), but make the ultra rare consumables really good!

Also, more variations on the same items. These variations would be slightly different but would give the same benefit as the original item. Thus, instead of +1 Plate Armor you could have Spiked Plate Armor and each would give the same AC benefit. Or, instead of a +1 long sword have a Dire Sword (with some nasty hooks on the blade or something cool looking) and both would cause the same damage. I would also like to see new variations to existing tokens, such as alchemists acid or lightning to replace (for a few years at least) alchemists fire.

Yeah, consumable URs would have to be really strong - they'd have to have a great effect for me to want to use one (like a DoMT token - I'd turn that in for a chance to draw!).

There is one PURP that only Clerics can use, the much maligned Sceptre of the Dead. My only comment on that is RESPECT the SCEPTRE (those who survived 2004 know what I mean)
Create a token that allows wands to be recharged. Perhaps this is something that could be specifically available for purchase.

Kim

I like (was it Gary's idea?) the idea of having some "Charge/recharge/1-charge" tokens so that you can show the DM your want and hand over the Charge token as a consumable, but keep the Wand. Of course, this might mean needing chargers for each type of want (a magic missle recharge may be easier to obtain than a lightning recharge) instead of an all purpose recharge.

I know that there are some items out there in the D&D world that are a play on Gary Gygax's name. Use one of them in the token collection this year as a tribute to him.

Kim

The Rod of Seven Parts had me checking the old DMG the other day. I saw the Ring of Gaxx (or something like that).
I like the idea of a token tribute to him.
Anyone have time to do a list of how many PURPS each class can use - that might help Jeff decide what to roll out this year?

It has always seemed to me that the "fighter types" have the most UR tokens.
I second the idea of perhaps taking a look at the URs on a "per-class" basis and seeing if there are any deficiencies which should be remedied.

I don't remember...but it is kinda cool, if we want to keep with charges and burners...no one misses a bolt or bullet...so charges could be uncommon or something. But this does make wands VERY powerful...with essentially an unlimited number of uses!
