OK so while we wait for a verdict on the stacking RoP issue...

Here are the numbers:

order is Final AC then Class then ACBase+DEX+Armor+Shield+GARB+Spell=AC

AC 22 Barbarian 10+1+5+2+4+0=22
AC 26 Bard 10+1+5+2+4+4=26
AC 25 Cleric 10+0+9+2+4+0=25
AC 25 Fighter 10+0+9+2+4+0=25
AC 26 Paladin 10+1+9+2+4+0=26
AC 19 Ranger 10+2+3+0+4+0=19
AC 20 Rogue 10+3+3+0+4+0=20
AC 18 Wizard 10+0+0+0+4+4=18

This shows max AC by class using tokens in existence as of 3/8/2006. This of course assumes MAX AC is chosen over such things as using a two handed weapon etc.

GARB stands for Gloves, Amulet, Ring, and Bracers - all usuable by each class - this number will increase by 1 if a CHAR can use two RoP.

ENJOY!

I'm not the last word, but I think the rings should not stack. I'd say go ahead and wear both, but the bonus only counts once.

Admittedly, my knowledge of D&D3.5 is limited but as far as I know the Rings of Protection DO stack just as two Rings of Regeneration and two Rings of Evasion would.

The only limit was two rings total and if stacking isn't allowed in TD, this would be a new rule. Personally, I think we should follow 3.5 rules to prevent any disgruntled players.

Isn't the ring in question a purple?
I mean honestly how many people are going to have 2?
I think it would be safe to say that we aren't going to have a lot of disgruntled players if we don't let them stack.
And the defined use of the ROE in TD doesn't sound like something you can stack.
I think of it like the thief's masterwork tool.
You are allowed only to use one per dungeon run.
And I really don't think that anyone would be too disgruntled over 1 ac point, if so then everyone could complain about certain classes not being able to use higher grade armors, etc.
I think allowing one is more in the spirit of the applied nature of these items within TD.
Anyways, that was my train of thought.

Umm, in 3.5 they definitely wouldn't stack. They haven't stacked since 2nd edition.
There are several TD rules that do not follow 3.5. Or any other version for that matter. As Jeff has frequently said, this is TD, not D&D. It is based on D&D, but some rules are different, because of the nature of the event.

True dat. Amulet of armor shouldn't stack with armor (Unless it was an amulet of natural armor). Bracers of defense (I'm assuming these are deflection) wouldn't stack with rings of protection.

Like I said, my knowledge of 3.5 is limited. But Heidi is right. This is TD, not D&D. However, for the most part, people will expect 3.5 rules. If we are more lenient people won't care. If we are more restrictive than 3.5 we need a good reason.

DD, its not the 1 AC that people would be upset about. A lot of the motivation and expense that went into acquiring these tokens is the "bling" value ... and few things bling like the [glow=magenta,2,300]purple[/glow] rings...

Either way, we should make an Official Ruling on what doesn't stack, better sooner than later. Could also affect values. :)
