TOPIC: What things stack?

I understand that the Girdle of Hill Giant strength (+3) can be used with the Gauntlets of Ogre Power (+2) .    However, could a Necklace of the Oak (+2) also be used?    Then could a potion of Bull's Strength (+4) be used as well, for a total of +11 to Strength?<br /><br />How about resistances?    If you had a ring of fire resistance (1/2 damage from fire) and a ring of fire elemental control (-5 from fire), and you were damaged by fire, would it first half it, then take 5 off, or would only the greater amount apply (half OR -5)?

Everything just about.

And to add:<br />Scroll of color spray:-2 to saves<br />But can you do it again next round for another -2 to saves?<br />Or another character cast one also on round one for another -2 to saves?<br />and so on? -4, -6, -8...

I didn't think consumables stack do they?    You can't drink 2 potions of Bull's Strength for + 8 to stength can you?

Identical tokens don't stack with each other gear-wise, so two bull's strength potions wouldn't stack either I guess. By the same rules, neither would effects originating from identical scrolls, whether cast in succession by the same player or by multiple casters.

I guess that would make sense, since the target is already under the effect of a spell.
