I would definitely argue against any XP being available at WYC.

Speaking of XP, this year's issues are still not resolved.

Haven't had a chance to catch up on everything that was announced while I was out of country but I would agree XP from non standard dungeons seems unfair in general.

From what has appeared throughout the forums, it looks like people with the astral tickets will get to run in the four room adventures at Whosyercon. If the event is identical to what will be at GenCon, later in the year, then XP and participation tokens may be appropriate. Since True Dungeon is behind on entering XP, maybe that could be a feature added to the Token Release Party? While Jeff and staff are transmuting and getting orders together, we could enter XP cards? Sounds like alot of fun?
True Dungeon IS teamwork. Tokens offer a better chance of survival for the team. :-)

I'm not opposed to XP for non-standard dungeons, or True Grind for that matter. But a four-room dungeon shouldn't get as much as a seven.

I never thought it "fair" that player levels were multiples of 1k, so that if you ever died before the last room it was like you never played that time at all from an XP perspective. If I could just earn another 50 somehow, that would be as good as another thousand...

But (shrug) it is what it is. And I'm sure I don't feel as strongly for as some folks feel against.

I can't imagine that Jeff would have XP for a limited event like WYC, and I wouldn't think it would be needed either. For anyone that can make it there and has the astral ticket, it's pretty awesome already to be able to do an exclusive mini dungeon for free, so extra incentives don't seem necessary.

Why not..the people going are going through the trouble of making it. Why cant there be XP? I am not saying the number to equal a whole regular dungeon run, but there should be something.
FYI. I will be be trying to get this and keep defending it. This is out of SPITE for everyone that wants reprints (plus i like experience)
It wont be FAIR for the people going to WYC and spending money to get there. We should get experience

Understood Chad, but I'll continue to be on the other side of this issue. I don't think XP should be given for events that not everyone can participate in (which is why I think True Grind never had XP, since so few people can do it). And I see no connection at all to XP at WYC and reprinting tokens. I don't think that Jeff should make any decisions based on spite ;)

Reprints seem to be made on SPITE.."i wasnt around in 2007 when the tokens were printed, SO they should be reprinted"

I will be pushing for XP big time. i wasnt saying XP for Grind..the other run is where XP should be
I am spending money(on tokens, hotel, gas and food) to get to WYC(for TD) I hope there is XP

There was XP for True Realm, not everyone could make that(side note, not everyone can make GENCON, yet there is XP there)

I think there are a lot of good reasons to reprint tokens than doing so out of spite. Wanting newer players to have ready access to some of the best tokens via reprinting isn't motivated by spite. There are valid positions on both sides of the reprint debate.

There was XP at True Realm, but not unique XP. You could do the Dungeons at GENCON and get the same XP as at True Realm. If you did the Dungeons at True Realm and at GENCON, you only got to count the XP once.

The people making the biggest request for Reprints were people that had been around..not so much new people...So that is SPITE

my reason for using SPITE..is because people want to bring the prices of these tokens down, to hurt the value of them

I don't think it is that people want to bring the value down so much as just be able to use the token in question that is reprinted. Yes it brings the value down. If you want to bring spitefulness into the equation then you have to look at the people that do not want reprints just to keep the value up.

Since the TD community has grown there is now a lack of Best in Slot items for the number of people playing. I myself have several tokens that are worth quite a bit but I would not want to restrict new players from getting them sometime in the future.

I am well aware of the tokens that Jeff stated would never be reprinted again and that everything else is fair game. He has done an admirable job of trying to keep the market value up on some tokens that are not in that list. He is to be commended for those actions. Jeff is nothing if not VERY accommodating, especially to his large token buyers. In my opinion Jeff gets taken advantage of by some of the large buyers because they know they have a lot of pull.

As far as XP goes, I like how Guild Wars 2 does it. EVERYTHING generates XP and I think True Dungeon would have been better off if they had taken that approach. Unless it is a repeat of a dungeon then XP should be generated. This would include True Grind, any outlying events such as WYC or True Realm and any specials like the new Astral Realm. If that had been done from the start then we would not have this argument today on if something is worthy of XP. To my way of thinking True Grind and other non-dungeon events should have a token amount of XP. Maybe 100XP so that people can get that bump they need after missing out on a room.

When it comes down to the nitty gritty, are you having fun? This is a game to be played with friends and like minded associates. I have had a tremendous amount of fun playing, transmuting, collecting, building characters, and more. I have really enjoyed meeting all the people that I have by playing True Dungeon and look forward to future adventures.

In conclusion, I would be very sad if True Dungeon stopped for some reason and my tokens became suddenly worthless BUT I would still smile at the good times and memories I would have of the times that I got to play. It is very rare that something comes along that is as much fun as True Dungeon and I choose to focus on that and whatever it takes to keep it going.
You can't fix stupid but you can TPK it.
