TOPIC: What did you watch?

Re: What did you watch? 17 years 2 months ago #193
Almost needed a 'raise dead' to bring this thread back...

Saw 'Journey to the Center of the Earth' today, in 3D. Lots of Wyle E. Coyote physics in it - i.e. no matter how far you fall, as long as you land in water, you're ok. My kind of physics! It was fun but forgettable.

what is the speed of terminal velocity and how long does it take to reach that in a freefall?

anything higher than that is just more time to scream/have heart attack/crap your pants/etc.

Bzzt. You can fall for ages and be just fine, as long as you land in water. Good idea to point your toes, too.

X

OK Cheerleaders you get a chance to steal.

Well Richard - you would switch to salt water for better health reasons and better overall swim experience...

Swimming in a mild saline solution is much like taking a shower in soft water. Generally, when people swim in a non-chlorine generator pool (a pool with no salt water in it) they feel like their skin dries quicker upon exiting the pool. They may feel and/or see a whitish residual, chlorine flaking, on the skin. In a salt-water pool (one with a chlorine generator) the water feels smooth, your skin feels smooth and many people feel more refreshed.

DING DING DING!
