Congrats. I am still almost done depending on how I can manage my tuition reimbursment with school to finish my BS( bachelor of science in IT not the other). I know it is a small thing and I don't even need it for my career but it is a goal I set. I know how tough it can be to spend so much time studying you feel as if you have no time for family.
How long can you tread water. ha ha ha.

Thanks to everyone! It feels great... a little odd yet each evening knowing I don't have my hour of writing to focus on. Hmmm, what to do with the time... what to do?

My Masters degree is from the IU school of Informatics in Human-Compter Interaction. (I design user experience and user interfaces for RCA electronics). The thesis itself was titled, "The Automatic Prediction of Pleasure and Arousal Ratings of Song Excerpts." (PDF Here should anyone feel bored: http://www.ohboymedia.com/thesis/Thesis_SOugh_Final.pdf .)

The overview is, as technology makes it easier to access vast libraries of music, common metadata such as artist and genre may not be enough for sorting, grouping and discovering new music. It is well documented that music can affect emotion and therefore has the potential to improve these tasks using emotion as the differntiator. As such, I explore a few methods for automating the prediction of the most common emotional reaction to songs. That's the nutshell. There are lots of potential pitfalls, one of the biggest simply good ol' personal tastes.

As for moving on to the next level... I think I'm done for a while. It took me 8 years to decide to go back for the graduate degree. Time for another break.

The full comic comes out in July! I'll have copies on hand for GenCon!!! The 8-page preview comic came out just this past Saturday and evaporated from comic stores like drow sweat on lava!

The SciFi channel movie airs in July, and other than that - I am sworn to secrecy!

GAME ON!

That's fantastic! I can't wait to see both! Are you doing any kind of Q&A sessions?

** Ah, just saw the resurrected thread in Off Topic. I'll pose any Q's there. ** =D
