TOPIC: The Chainmaille Wench

Re: The Chainmaille Wench 17 years 1 month ago #61

I really like the first coif in the list - as far as material - I think the lightest would be best - and it's going to be a costume piece, so the lighter the better (I would like something shiny, tho). As far as the measurements for the shirt - I'm going to have to get that to you later - I'll see if I can dig up a tape measure in the next day or so.

jdt5555 - It sounds like Bright Aluminum is going to be your best choice for material. I am working on a quote for you on the coif. The following measurements would be helpful:

Head circumference at forehead
Top of head to shoulder
Shoulder-to-shoulder (where you want the edge to lay)

That must get pretty expensive if you have a head the size of a Klingon's
I could swear you spelled your name differently that this, so please forgive me if I use an incorrect spelling (and by all means, correct me).

Heidi,

I scanned the last month of posts here. I didn't see mention of the new tokens. Perhaps I needed to look back further. In any case, do you know if the wraps will work well with the new tokens? I would LOVE to have a wrap for a Horn of Plenty.

I also have a co-worker who is considering the purchase of a dice bag. I'll send him the link.

John
JKW
hey, and how did the other 6 dice bags sell? Hope everything is going well.

New jobs working out?

Our team was just asked to provide our resumes to our manager so she can help find us new positions - ours are going overseas. Now I have to consider cancelling my DF order and postponing my Token order. Doh!

I also am considering taking a job closer to home that will give me a lot more experience, but that might require a 20%+ paycut.
Can't live on that, but the experience would be nice, so would working closer to home and probably setting my own hours.

Based on a Clout chip I have on hand, the token wraps should work fine on the new tokens as well as old.

The store hasn't sold any more bags yet, but have lots of people looking/thinking about it.

I'm working on some jewelry designs, and hope to post them here soon. Also hope to have a website up by this summer. I'm going to give notice at Graham's this week, since Sears is going well, so I have more time for chainmaille.

I MAY have found someone to share a booth with at Gen Con. I'm waiting to hear back if the person is definitely interested. If so, I may be offering "product credit" to friends/forum members who are willing to help run the booth for an hour or two during the con.

Glad to hear that the chainmail and Sears biz are going so well! I was just wondering if you were thinking about a booth at GenCon. I just attended a mini-con (OrcCon) here in LA, and one guy had a booth selling chainmail items (bikinis, coifs, earrings, keychains, etc.). He actually did a seminar to help people make their own chainmainl dice bags. For $20, you got a pound of links, a tupperware to hold them, step-by-step instructions, and a pair of wire-nose pliers. I bought one, and hope to be done before Indy!

brian
