In my suicide pool this week I picked the Dolphins. Figure it's a good idea to pick against the Jets.

I thought this week was looking like a no-brainer, at least for me, but a second game has been tempting me. Of course, one of these games is looking increasingly unlikely to happen and we'll be right back to "no-brainer". Let's see how this goes.

I think I've got one more week before I start getting nervous. I've gone deep enough often enough to know how this goes -

1) Easy advance this week, move on to final 5 or 4.

2) Stressful survival next week, winning through some stupid last-minute TD I don't deserve. Everyone else wins in blowouts, and we play on.

3) Change my pick like 15 minutes before kickoff the week after next, and proceed to lose by 3 touchdowns.

I root for the Colts as my favorite team so much so I picked them week 1 this year and was out after week 1. With Rivers at the helm, he'll snatch defeat from certain victory. You can't throw that many picks and consistently win. Hopefully, we can pick up someone else at QB for next year.

As a Bears fan, I feel ya there. At least Foles seems to be doing a good job after Trubisky got benched.

I really wanted Jay Cutler to be the man to get us back to the big game, but that was a waste of time and money.

Once again, I find myself in the enviable position of "taking a late game after everyone else has already advanced", where the best possible outcome is exactly the same position I went into today.

Could be worse, though - the second game I was considering taking yesterday was the Patriots.

Yeah, Denver's track record drafting successful QB's isn't great. Remember, Elway wasn't actually drafted by the Broncos - the Colts drafted him and he got traded. In the history of the franchise. they have never drafted a super bowl winning QB. Only Griese and Culter made the pro bowl out of all QB's drafted since 1980 (40 years) (I edited this stat after Culter making the pro bowl as a Bronco was mentioned.) Two stats tell volumes about the franchise...

The QB drafted by Denver in their team history dating back to 1961 to win the most playoff games for Denver is.... Tim Tebow with 1 playoff win. The most successful QB they ever drafted in terms of playoff wins was Jay Culter with 2 (both with the Bears.)

The Colorado Rockies (Baseball) have a better record drafting successful QB's than the Broncos. Among players drafted by the Rockies: Russel Wilson and Michael Vick, Between those two, they have 11 playoff wins and 1 Championship.

Denver has the worst record drafting QB's in the history of the NFL. If they give up on someone, it's probably best to treat them as radioactive.

Cutler was drafted by the Broncos in 2006 and made the Pro Bowl in 2008.
