Thanks for the suggestion Fast Jack.

I've got a pair of Black Faux Leather, Faux Suede Calf High Heeled Boots I got at Walmart for like $18 earlier this year. I was thinking would work with the Pirate-ish outfit. However all day wear would definitely need some insole support. So I was trying to find out what would be good.

Sorry, probably didn't make it clear. The group that did those was the very same that I listed. Edhellen armory (if anyone catches the JRR Tolkien reference) made those weapons that were used, and their booth was quite large at the con this year. Check out the site, I'm sure you'll recognise them in their LARP weapons category! Like Fast Jack said, VERY expensive!

I think I'll have to invest in a couple of those swords for my evil ranger costume...

Hey Lesimony!

Thanks bunches for the reccomend on those insoles. Those Dr. Scholls memory ones. They are comfy. Will make for happy feet in boots. heehheehehe.
Huzzah the Lady Dazzy costume for monday is done, and I got the feathers sewn into my dads leather tricorn hat.

Definitely think I'll have to bring part of the Lady Dazzy costume for the con.
I'm really pleased with how the waist cincher turned out when paired with the little vest.
And I got some great feather trim that looks awesome on the bottom as a peplum. *sigh* Makes me wish I had my camera so I could be blogging about my sewing projects. Doh well.

And thanks again hun for the reccomend. Heeled boots look greath with costumes but are not always the best things for all day wear. A good pair of insoles can make all the difference!

My heeled boots are always no more than 2.5 inches. I like a little more height with my floor length skirts and cloaks.
And I'm also very picky about the shape of the heel. I don't understand how women can walk in shoes with a toothpick under their heels.
Speaking of which, yay for socal, I can have my cloaks with me!

Well normally I wouldn't. Although at one time I made a mock up of a wing friendly cloak.
There is always a way my dear. ;)

 Of course, wing slits in the back, like arm slits on the side of a cape.

The caffeine just kick-started my brain. I'm thinking clearer now that I've had my morning Diet Dr Pepper. :)
